Anyone else watching The Bachelorette?

I was just thinking about a match-maker show that featured an older man and older women. It was called "Who Wants to Marry my Dad"? Any one remember this one? I think it ran two seasons.

I think it's still on in syndication...or maybe that is only Meet My Folks.

With that being said. I am not THAT put off by her leaving the BBQ. I mean, she has been dating these guys... every single one of them trying to convince her that "I am here for 'you'" So, they get bored, and decide to occupy themselves by throwing a Barbeque... Half of them are hanging out like a group of guys hanging out with 'the guys'... and the others just walk off. WTH????? What was up with that?

If these guys want to marry Deanna and want her to choose them, then hangin' out like fratboys or walking off too standoffish and immature to even speak to her... NOT the way to go. Deanna picked up on that. I do not simply think that this one situation was completely caused by an attitude of "it's all about meeeeee".

I agree.

I'm a soft touch, but I've never really had a problem with Deanna. She tells you exactly where you stand with her. She could use more tact, of course, but that's not too much of a big deal to me.

I was reading the recap they do at Entertainment Weekly's website and some posters wrote that Deanna needs to read He's Just Not That Into You b/c that's the situation she finds herself in with Graham. She's so in lust with him she can't see straight.

Now that you mentioned it...I do remember watching that show but can't remember what the guy or woman looked like. Maybe that's why it was only on a few times...because it was forgetable or....

Maybe they can make a show on how to improve your memory, like I need I can't seem to remember anything lately...

Ok, so I didn't get to watch until last night, but I'm all caught up now.

My favorites of the guys left are Jason and Jesse. Suprisingly, Sean didn't bug me this time, which is saying a lot! I was glad to see Robert go. Sad to see Fred go. Disappointed to see Brian go. It really seems clear that DeAnna isn't seeing these guys for what they are. Maybe she's a poor judge of character or maybe she's self-sabotaging this, but why is she so hot and bothered for Graham and Jeremy? Why is Twilley still here? It seems obvious that there won't be any long term future with these guys. And I get the feeling that, even though she likes Jason and isn't mad about him having a kid, that she won't pick him in the end because of the kid. I think at some point, she will look back on this and regret not giving guys like Brian and Fred more of a chance. It will be interesting to see what she says next week.

Oh yeah, I totally vote for Brian to be the next bachelor! If he is, I won't even get tired of all the gratuitous hot tub, swimming pool, beach, etc. scenes they always show!

Funny you should mention Aaron B. My DVR picked up 37 episodes of the old bachelors and I have been watching his season the past few days. Looking back, he was an idiot, and he only had eyes for Helene from DAY ONE. No one else stood a chance.

I noticed that they did things differently back then. Before every rose ceremony they had private video messages for the Bachelor to watch. Some of those were pretty telling!

It's nearly one in the morning to us East Coasters so I'm hitting the hay. How are you doin'???


I must say I think my favorite Bachelor was Andrew Firestone and I'd love to see his season again. But I'm a doofus and didn't record it. But I'd be GLUED to my set if Brian were the new Bachelor! He looks just like our UPS guy... and I'd love to be able to send myself packages just to see him but it would be too obvious!
