I can't believe I am, but it's really quite funny.

The ONLY thing the two have in common is media attention.

What a whiner Kate is. She must never had been a Girl Scout here in PA. Especially when we would go primative camping.

She slept out in the yard in the rain with the kids....why be such a spoil sport on the wonderful oppertunity the kids had.....
Suck it up Kate and think of your kids, how they see you, and immatate you.

Missed the end, had to see who Undercover Boss was this week.

Sarah Palin is one of my least favorite people. However, Kate Gosselin definitely made Sarah look good!

What a baby. whining, spoiled brat Kate looked like. Why would you agree to go camping in Alaska and then stand there constantly complaining about the cold? What was the deal with not eating the hot dog and then crying she was hungry?

I felt bad for the kids because they were having a good time and then Kate, being Kate, had to do what she wanted and too bad about the kids. All about Kate, all the time.

Ditto. I wouldn't watch that if someone paid me.

DH is all about Alaska, which is why I was watching. Last night episode made for pretty good comedy.

As a PP said, I'm not a Palin fan at all, but Kate made her look really good.

Darn I missed it. I was definitely looking forward to the whining. I'll have to catch it on reruns. She makes us laugh. (Kate) And since we're campers it will be even funnier. :goodvibes

I don't like Kate, but I must empathize with her feelings about the camping. We used to go tenting and it would almost always rain! One time Dh and I took my 7 year old nephew camping. It rained for two days. When the sun finally did come out, Dh took his father (his parents camped up the road in a tent trailer) and my nephew out fishing. I got up and fully expected to get breakfast, read, etc. only to find that Dh had locked the car and the food was all inside!!! I was less than happy. Dh's mom sleeps until the afternoon because she is like nocturnal, so I had to sit around starving until they came back!:sad2:
And I don't like to be cold either, so Kate made the right decision. She probably only agreed to go because of the publicity. Maybe Sarah Palin should have rented a cabin - then it would have been "bear"able, LOL!:lmao:

I read in the paper the whole thing was staged anyway.

Kate and kids, of course, were "hired" to do this. It was basically scripted on how each woman would act.

There was also apparently no chemistry with the two women and they did not even speak off-set.

Whether Kate is a whiny brat, I don't know, but it sounds to me that she was directed to act/be a certain way.

I don't believe for one second it was staged. TLC and Kate have to do enough damage control without it being staged. And if you have ever watched Kate you would know that she hates outdoors, camping and the cold. She has said it from the time they were first on TV. This was Kate at her finest, no editing necessary.

Agreed.

Besides, Kate has no acting ability ... she couldn't even put on a decent fake smile on DWTS.

I don't think it was staged either, but I think the producers knew exactly the kind of reaction they would get from Kate if they put her in the wilds of Alaska in the pouring rain with no modern conveniences. Kate acted like a bratty six year old, while Sarah was very gracious. I don't like either of them, but Sarah certainly appears to have some clue how to be polite to other people, while Kate seems to think that everything revolves around her and doesn't hesitate to let anyone know if she is unhappy.

True, I forgot about that part. There is no way she could act like that. That little fit she had was real. 100%.

PS: Although I do feel her pain. I HATE camping. I would have never behaved that way on national TV. She looked like a fool. And just really fed into all the negative about her.

I totally agree with you. I went in to the show with a hate for Kate and a dislike for Sarah, but in the end, I have gained a new respect for Sarah. She was gracious, and I found some of her comments to be quite funny. My feelings for Kate have not changed.

My DD saw the ad for this show and really wanted to watch it. She is all about camping and all things nature...

I was really disappointed that Kate couldn't get it together and just suck it up for the sake of her children. Her kids were having a wonderful time and being given an experience that many people will never have the opportunity to have, and she took it away from them. She was horrible. Also, the way she acted was horribly rude.

I am not a big Sarah Palin fan at all, but there is something I really like about her in this show. Her youngest daughter Willow is adorable.

Kate doesn't have to like camping. There are a lot of us who don't, but what exactly did she expect? She went into it with a negative attitude and really didn't even try to give the experience a chance.

I don't think I know one other person who can find something to complain about in every single thing that isn't solely about them.

Did anyone else catch Sarah's father's comment at the very end of the show?
Priceless.

I had running around to do this morning and thought for sure I would come back and find all the "Kate lovers" posting on this thread about how it really wasn't Kate's fault - it was everyone else's!

What happened - not even any comments on the Kate plus 8 thread? Is this behavior too much for even that staunchest Kate supporter.

I would NEVER support Sarah Palin for any kind of political office but I will say that I thought she did a very good job of being gracious to Kate even with all the "woe is me" coming from Kate.

I felt sorry for the kids, they were having a good time.

Kate's show has now "jumped the shark".

I watched maybe a minute of it. Long enough to see Kate's scowl and turned it off.
