anyone else watch Guy Fieri last night

the Disneyland Food Network special was on last night...with our first trip coming up it was soooo cool:santa:

Oh, bummer I missed it! I would have loved to see it! I saw part of a Disney special on TLC showing how they decorate for Christmas...even though it was for WDW and not DL, it was still very cool to see!:santa: 9 more days til we leave!!

Bummer x2! We dropped our Tivo service in place of a DVR that our cable company supplies (cheaper and can record multiple shows at one time). Our Tivo used to automatically search, find, and record anything with the word "Disneyland" in the title. I would have liked to have seen this show again before our daytrip in a couple of weeks.

My wife, daughter and son watched it. I was on the computer, on this site. Wife told me that I should have watched it so I could get even more excited about our up and coming Disney trip. Like I need that to get me excited.

They said it was a great show. Hopefuly can catch it again soon.

Darn, I missed it. On one of my trips a couple years ago I saw him filming it! :thumbsup2

We saw it last night and last year. Honestly I was pretty disappointed in it. I thought they could have done a lot more behind the seens of the treat making and less family stuff. They spent a long time on that hot chocolate at Napa Rose (I think) when most people will probably never drink it.

The Yule Log was cool though:thumbsup2

If you do a search for "Guy's Disney Holiday" on youtube you can watch it. There are 4 "episodes" and neatly labled 1 of 4 etc. so you can watch it in order.

We saw it
Loved the candy canes.:lovestruc Did I hear right that they only make 3 batches of 45 a week.:confused3
The yule log was also very cool.
Too bad I won't see any of this when we go in April:sad1:
But I think my DD will get one of those corn dogs.
:cutie:

I did it was cool. and made me so happy we are going this holiday season!

Argh! NO! I missed it! I thought it was on the 1st and 2nd, but it is the 11th and 12th that it repeats. Phooey! Off to youtube I go.....

They spent a long time on that hot chocolate at Napa Rose (I think) when most people will probably never drink it.

True, but it is the most amazing hot chocolate! We were at the chef's counter last year and I asked if I could have a little sip after watching the show. YUM! Hoping to have some more this year. :)

I still have it saved on the DVR from last year, but I'm dorky enough to where I wanted to see it again when it aired on Food Network this year!!:rotfl2::rotfl2: (What can I say? Sometimes it's more of an 'event' to watch something as it airs on TV than on the DVR!!)

I love the show!! I wasn't interested in the Napa Rose stuff, personally, but I know a lot of other people are. (I think I'm in the minority in not having any interest in Napa Rose.) But I really enjoyed the show. I think it showed a decent array of holiday goodies. The main reason I loved it is that it's all about DLR and not about WDW. Too often DLR gets the short end of the stick and only gets 30-minute specials or shows that include WDW footage. This is one full hour of nothing but DLR during the holiday season - which is awesome!!

And I'm another one who was at DLR when Guy was filming the special in December 2008!! Sounds like quite a few of us were there!:cool1::cool1: I didn't actually see the filming as it happened, but I saw the camera crew rushing hurriedly through a special gate at DL to get some nighttime footage!!

I also love the special that airs on HGTV, about WDW during the holidays - watching both that and Guy's show is really fun!! They are kind of nice 'bookends' to other Disney-related TV shows.

I would recommend that, if you want to catch "Guy's Disney Holiday" on TV this year or record it for yourself, do it this year. Don't wait until next year. I notice that Food Network likes to run certain Disney-related shows for only a couple of years - maybe 3 years at most - and then the shows disappear. They used to run this one show with Raven Symone at WDW, showing the different edible food decorations at the WDW hotels...and then it disappeared forever. It was a great show, and it's gone forever. The original one-hour "Unwrapped" which was all about WDW has not aired in a year or two. Sometimes these things will turn up on DVD or Blu-Ray eventually, and you can usually find them broken up in segments on YouTube, but if you want to have it in your own DVR or whatever kind of recording device you have, try to get it this year.

Thanks so much for sharing. One thing though. I absolutely love chocolate, dark, milk, white, but am I the only one who saw that hot chocolate and thought yuck! Sometimes there can be too much of a good thing. And the way they described it "drinking a melted candy bar" I instantly got a toothache. But everything else was awesome.

We saw it last night and last year. Honestly I was pretty disappointed in it. I thought they could have done a lot more behind the seens of the treat making and less family stuff. They spent a long time on that hot chocolate at Napa Rose (I think) when most people will probably never drink it.

Oh it was just the contrary for me, after we saw the same special on TV last year we made reservations for Napa Rose on our March trip and after dinner we had that magnificent hot chocolate, it was fantastic! and we also went back in sept and I had the crepes at Cafe Orleans. I thought the show was awesome! and made me want to eat it all!!! :thumbsup2

My daughter just watched it and loved it. Now she wants to go NOW! hahaha
