Anyone else waiting for jetBlue to release April 2008?

I am worried..Ran into a friend tonight and told him that we are going in April. He told me he did it once and would never do it again. Am I nuts to want to go at this time of year. I am afraid it is going to be mayhem....??????
I think it totally depends on when you are going. We only go on the years that Easter comes in March, as it doesn't seem as busy because the folks that went for Easter are gone by then. And the spring break crowd isn't infull swing either. We always go in the middle of the month as schools here are on vacation that week. The weather is always beautiful then. We have been twice in April and its our favorite time.

February Jetblue has now been posted. Its not looking good guys, not at all. The same will be for April, I'm sure. Go take a look.

First I plugged in the Thurs. before vacation starts to the Friday of vacation (which is what we were shooting for in April) and the fares scared me to death!:scared1: But then when I played with the dates a bit I felt better. If I went Tues. of vacation week to Weds. of the next week (kids would miss three days of school, which I was planning on) I found fares of $99 to $139, much better! Let's keep our fingers crossed for April

Those of you with experience flying JetBlue during these times, are we better off to book right away, as the fares will only go up, or do you find they come down after a bit? Usually I get my best fares only three months or so out, but we've never gone during a school vacation before. Thanks!:)

LORI - I would play the wait and check game. (I just posted another thread on JetBlue's Feb. rates.)

We fly this week every year and while these rates are the highest I've ever seen, I'm planning on waiting.

Sometimes they will drop the rate for a few hours at a time and them bump it up again. That's what happened the last couple years. One day it was $299 one way MCO to Boston in the morning....dropped to $119 one way in the afternoon for like two hours...which I snagged and then was back up again in the evening.

It's a pain because you have to check CONSTANTLY.

Also...keep checking multiple airlines. You can always book one ways and it can save you A LOT of money.

Good luck to all!!

We went the third week in April last year and it was great. We were prepared for much larger crowds, so we were pleasantly surprised. The crowds were not bad at all and the weather was perfect. We will try to go this week every year, except when it coincides with Easter.

Wow, I wasn't expecting them to be that high. Even Mon of that week was high. The other odd thing is that these fares are not showing up on Kayak yet. Ususally they show up on Kayak before they show up on JB's website. I hope April is a little bit better.

Anyone want to speculate on what this means for those of us waiting for April dates on JetBlue? I have never seen them just release a few weeks like this (1/8-2/29)....last year was August 1 the fares were released til April 30.Think we'll be waiting even later this year.....

Last year, we booked Mon-Mon of April vacation week. We booked the day the fares were out. I checked every day until right before our trip and they never went down. If I find a fare I am comfortable with, knowing they'll be higher than usual because it's a school vacation week, I jump on it knowing I can get a credit if the fare goes down.

That's what we're hoping for, with Easter falling in March this year. We have friends who went last year (or maybe the year before) when Easter fell the Sunday of our April break, and they said the crowds were crazy! The kids are getting older now (5th and 6th grade) and we're already pulling them out four days in Oct., so I don't want them missing more than two or three days in April. We've never had any trouble from the school, but their work load is getting bigger and it's harder for them to catch up.

oooh, I hope that Jetblue releases the rest of their dates soon. When I called them the women told me next week more dates will be released........:cool1: :cool1:

The prices for Feb. are not too bad..

I hope the prices and the crowds are not bad for April tooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went this past April during CT's school break and it wasn't too bad - we like to get up early, hit the parks then go back to the resort for some swimming...and hop to a different park for dinner and after.

I've been checking flights out of BDL for that week, so even if Jet Blue seems a little high ( compared to their past history) as long as it's cheaper than what I've been seeing I'm booking it...Good luck everyone! :thumbsup2

For the 2007/2008 year April break is the 12th to the 20th (Sat to Sun) - we have SSR reserved for the 12th to 19th now I'm just waiting on the airlines! :rolleyes1 This past April break was the week of April 14 - 21.

We're in Torrington - DD goes to Catholic school here but they follow the Torrington calendar because of the busses.

Oh no!!! Jet Blue for February is scary!!! Will it mean the same for April? Does this happen often? Do higher rates come out first, and then they drop? Hoping!!!!:scared1:

For those of you looking into a Feb trip, are you looking at Presidents Week? It always seems to be ridiculously expensive to fly that week. Or is all of Feb really expensive?

I'm hoping that the Week of April 12th isn't too bad when it comes out. I don't think too many people are on break that week.

The week of April 12th shouldn't be too bad.

President's week is always expensive. We go every year. But from what I've been able to tell...April break is about the same pricewise. At least from here in Mass. for April school vacation week. (Other weeks are usually less.)

I just keep checking constantly and have always been able to get under $200 rt from Boston. But...I don't always go JetBlue...whoever is cheap and direct is what I'll take.

Good luck to all.

I plugged in the same days. Holy crap! I am going Thur of the week before to Friday the week of vacation week in April. DS and DN will both be in their senior year in high school so they do not want to miss any days. Usually the schools are closed the Fri before vacation week so DS and DN should only miss half a day.

In Maine Feb vacation is during Presidents week so I am thinking the fares for April vacations will be similar.
I am thinking my Delta $308.10 rt fare is not so bad after all.

We were supposed to fly Jet Blue out of JFK (fares were much less than out of BDL ) and we ended up actually flying Jet Blue out of White PLains because we left the morning of the Nor'easter :scared: . (Jet Blue let us change the flights w/o charge because of the weather :thumbsup2 ).

We're looking to fly out of White Plains again in April on Jet Blue (I checked the flights for Presidents week out of HPN and they're still less than BDL, so hopefully that's good news for April vacation).
