Anyone else waiting for jetBlue to release April 2008?

Right now it's a good price because the other airlines are much much higher for the dates I need (which is April vacation for a lot of CT)...I got a price of almost $2700 for the 3 of us from Delta, and a little over $2000 from American - so the $1600 is relatively good - for now.

I talked it over with DH, and we're going to wait a bit and see if Jet Blue releases through April soon and decide then.

Personally, I wouldn't wait. Jetblue is starting out very very high, the second the vacation dates are available. They aren't starting out at some nice price of 99.00 one way, they're starting out at 400.00 one way. No way would I wait, I didn't. Time is not on our side when it comes to school vacation fares.

This year I booked Jet Blue from Boston to Orlando for April vacation. Instead of our usual trip of sat. to sat. (or sun.) I fudged the dates and we went Sun. to Mon. and the kids missed one day of school but I saved $900. I hope I can get another deal for next year - I have been haunting the Jet Blue site every day now.

Just an aside...this April was when we had that Nor'Easter and we weren't sure we were going to get out of Boston at all! The weather did end up cooperating with our flight and we got out ok and had a smooth flight most of the way down. Others weren't so lucky as flights got cancelled. Two or three years ago we were delayed a bit due to SNOW...so you never know what April weather in new England will bring!

I'm already rethinking this April trip! There's no way we can pay $500 pp for air (there are four of us). I'm also trying to figure out the best ticket route, as our APs are expiring in early Feb. We're DVC, so we get an AP discount, but I'm not sure we'd get more than one trip in on a renewal. Plus I only have enough points (without borrowing again ) for five nights in a 1 BR, so we'll be looking at a value or preferably a moderate for two or three nights. I'm not sure if there will be any codes, AP or general, for that time of year. I think I'm too obsessed . Do I have any company in the Disney OCD club?

We don't go to Disney enough to make an AP worth it and even when we do go a couple times in a year, we don't do the parks everyday. So I've decided to bite the bullet and buy my husband and I 10 day hoppers with no expiration for our weekend getaway in October. We'll probably do parks on two days which will mean we'll have eight days left. If we go in April, I'll buy the kids the same tickets then, and we'll probably do 3 days at the parks. At that rate, these tickets should last us a few years.

I priced the tickets at AAA...

10 Day Hopper No Exp. - $425 Adult
- $387 Child

10 Day Hopper No Exp with Water Parks - $466 / $432

So we are paying about $42 a day to hop the parks.

You can add me to the list of Disney OCD club members! I've been checking jetBlue's website multiple times a day for a couple of weeks. It has to be any day now... I hope! I'm leaving on Mon for WDW, so I'd love to have my April airfare booked by then. I'm also thinking that if April is too high, we might have to push our trip back to June, but I really don't want to do that.

Me too....$433-450 out of ALB is too much if I can get it for $220 on Jet Blue

I called JetBlue a couple of times this past week getting credits for my Sept trip. At the end of each call I asked about when they would release the fares for April 2008. Neither agent had a clue.....I was hoping for some insight.

kritter....you must have been wise and booked your SSR trip (10 glorious days...love your resort...have stayed there several times)from a weekday to weekday to get those great fares!!! I could kick myself in the butt....booked ours Sun to Sun(no....no reason!!!) and waited when the fares first came out at $99 thinking I had plenty of time to buy...when very quickly they went up to $149 each way!!So my outbound flight went down to $114...no move but up on the MCO/BOS leg.I'll pay more attention to my flight days from now on....didn't think it would really matter in mid-Sept.

I booked it from a Thurs. till the following Sat.

We are at the end of Sept. maybe that is why....

I hope you all have better luck with rates for April's break on JetBlue than they are offering for Feb. break. They want $800 RT from Boston to Orlando. Is that insane or what? They are supposedly low cost, but higher than any other airline for that week.

I noticed that earlier this morning. I am really happy now that I purchased my tickets with Delta as soon as they came out. We are going camping tomorrow for a week and it looks like I will miss the release of JetBlue's April bookings.
I hope they do release them while I am gone and that you all get great fares. Good luck!!

I noticed the JetBlue site says the fall fare sale ends today, so hopefully that means they'll be releasing more dates soon!

I hope they release through at least the end of April! I'm still monitoring the USAir flights and don't want to purchase those until I see what Jet Blue does!
