I am volunteering for both the full and half to set up the finish line (maybe start line, can't remember) but I know my shift starts at 2:40 am and I can't pull up anything anywhere for more information so I guess I have to wait til the Expo and I pick up my stuff.

Just trying to figure out what I should bring with me, and what I do with myself afterwards since my shift ends at around 8:30 or 8:40. Do I have to leave and go around to the regular spectator side ? I know I'll have to get a cab for that early to get over there and ant to make sure I have the cash or/and maybe share a ride so I won't be alone in the cab. I am not opposed to catching a ride with a fellow Dis'ser who has to be there also.

I try to remember during the race, but in case I miss you, thanks for your support.

This event wouldn't function without you and the others that volunteer their time.:thumbsup2

DH is volunteering as an RN during the full. He's assigned to tent 1 and the finish so maybe you guys will be in the same area? His shift starts at 4am and it didn't list when he'd be done exactly. too bad the shifts don't match up, as a carpool would be nice! and, as the PP said, thanks for volunteering!

Thanks for your work. As far as what happens you will be given a place to meet/check in on race day. If not walkable you will be given a lift to your spot. You will get most your swag at check in on race day. If they do it like they used to you will have a lanyard with a coded pass. The codes on the pass will let folks know where you are supposed to be allowed. By all rights once your shift is complete you become a spectator. However, you may have rights with the lanyard that could allow a lot of non park access.

I hope it gets warmer so I am not freezing all morning. I just have to make sure I pack extra clothes I guess, checked luggage here I come !
