I am the Director for our church and we have chosen Cunstruction I.N.C. I just thought if there were a few of us we could share ideas as we begin to plan.:D

Who puts it out?? I've done Lifeway before. Not sure what our church will use this year but if it is the same as yours I'll do a VBS search and get in touch. Pam Good Luck!!

Concordia Publishing here in St. Louis. I have the directors kit already, but their web site is not the best one I have used. I like the Son ones better! I did not win the vote on this one!;) Oh well it is a cute program and we are in the middle of building a new church so the theme fits.:D

I am not the director and we are doing rickshaw rally by lifeway. I was outvoted again, sigh, sigh. I am only a helper in a class. Last year I wanted to do the undersea themed one and they chose the england themed one. That was too hard to decorate. Another church gave us all their decorations because they did theirs first. This one appears no better. Oh well, I am just going with the flow. After all I am only one little toe in the larger body. We only average about 50-60 kids.

I am ! We are doing Son Games - with the Olympics this year it fit so well and there is SOOOOO much we can do with it!

My church did the England one last year and it was awesome! It was DD#1's last year (she was leaving 5th grade) so all 3 kids enjoyed it.
I used to help with VBS since I have summers off. But after we did 40 days of purpose, and thought a lot about our gifts we could offer the church, I realized how that age group is not something I enjoy. I like toddlers and I like older kids (I teach HS) but not elementary age. More than a few friends over with my kids drives me crazy. Someone told us "it's not a gift if you are miserable just thinking about having to do it". So I stopped! I just help with registration now, dealing with parents.

You're the opposite for me Robin. I am in a middle school, and no WAY would I go to a high school. I can't wait to go to elementary.

We're new to our church, but I may consider volunteering for the VBS.

Can I ask anybody what is your screening procedures for all workers/volunteers, and do you have teen helpers?

I'm the director for our church's VBS. I also coordinate the 6-11 yr olds classes and activities. I've written the curriculum the past few years so we can tailor it to our church and the area. It also saves in the $$$$ department. I usually look like this  by the time it's June, but it's well worth it. Apparently I have a very active imagination. Last year it was Soul Trek and we sectioned off a part of the basement with black curtains (or really plastic tablecloths), hung some on the ceiling that were painted with fluorescent paint and glow-in-the-dark stars and poked Christmas lights through it. We used blacklights and a strobe light (blinking fairly slowly) and visited a different planet everyday. I've had more than enough help the last couple years because I think the adults can't wait to see what I've thought up this time. We made a table cart into a spaceship and transported the kids from the bottom of the steps to the "planet of the day". We use a lot of teenagers to help in the idea department.

I've already been asked what we're doing this year and we haven't even firmed up the dates yet! :scratchin I didn't want to tell them, but I use my trips to WDW to fire up the ol' imagination juices.

Debbie, WOW! I have enough trouble organising it all and that is with buying the kit!!! You are my hero!:D

I really wanted Son Games it looks so cute and they always have such a nice web site to help everyone gospellightvbs.com I had been thinking of ideas to go with SonGames since they announced the theme last fall. Oh well!

Robin I am doing 40 Days of Purpose right now. I am learning so much! We sometimes need a baby sitter for the helpers kids. You might think about that.

Cindy do help out, it really is fun.

We only ask church members to help. And our youth are wonderful helpers. We sign their service hours for high school and they are such good helpers. Many of them have gone through VBS as kids and enjoy being a part of it now. :D
