Hi ya'll!!

I am recently a cancer survivor....I had melanoma removed from each leg as well as 2 lymph nodes.

Until this spring I was a complete sun worshiper. I would go tanning all year long and loved to lay out in the sun in the summer. I am having some withdrawl, but know it is for the better!!!

I just purchased some Lancome tanning lotion for my body and face yesterday and used it last night and this morning. So far it looks okay. Being ghostly white is not me. My surgeon recommended Loncome or Clinique.

I would love to hear what others use and what your opinions are!!!

Thank you!!

I like Lancome, but my favorites are Clarins and Neutrogena. I think Neutrogena is the most natural looking, and it is also the cheapest. I also had a pre-cancerous lesion removed from my leg a few years ago, so I never go out without sunblock.

It's hard to remember that the some/most of the sunless tanning lotions have no sunblock, so you still need to use sunblock even though you look tan.

Clinque is supposed to be the best, it's goood even for sensitive skin. You have to remember to apply it evenly and to wash your hands afterwards, or your hands will "tan" in the wrong places.

I love self tanning lotions and have been using them for years! My skin is fair and I'm very serious about protecting it from the sun. I have tried many different brands, some are better than others. My current favorite is Sublime by Loreal'.

I use Banana Boat self tanning. I have VERY sensitive skin and I can use this on my face and body. It washes off with each shower.

I use the clinique self tan. I use disposable gloves when I apply it so I do not end up with orange hands!!

Funny you should post this. I just bought Sublime Bronze by L'Oreal today and am trying it out. So far it looks okay. I am a fairly pale person by nature and don't want a lot of color (I wouldn't look right) but I also don't want to scare people at the beach. :scared:

Oh BTW, L'Oreal is the parent company of Lancome (or vice versa?) Many of their products are similar or even nearly identical.

I tried Sublime Bronze by L'Oreal last summer, and it did ok. I have never done well with most of them, as they all tend to look very fake on my snow white skin :( But on my legs, this one did pretty good.

has anyone done the 'spray booth' self tanner thing? I crack up thinking about on 'Friends' when Ross did it, and only tanned one side of his body,,lmao,, but I am curious as to how well it really works.

edit, I used to work for Lancome,, and there are alot of similarities between some of the Loreal products and Lancome. Not all, but some. I have no problem using Loreal to save a few dollars :)

I love Neutragena Instant Bronze Foam. Exfoliate first, then moisturize hands and rough spots (elbows, ankles) before applying. I usually need to apply it twice a week.

Well, after having applied Sublime Bronze about four hours ago, I have to say it came out pretty well. My arms look great. I think I need to reapply on my legs, but overall I am very happy.

It also smells very nice.

Yes!!! The new L'OREAL sublime bronze rules!::yes:: I am the fairest individual I know (I'm Casper, no ifs ands or butts about it) I have used every self tanner and this is my favorite. It smells great, looks great and doesn't rub off on anything.

okay..im glad someone posted this..i look like casper i am so pasty , and i could be outside for e ver and never get any color ( although now i wear sunblock all the time bc i found out i had a cancerous mole ) but anyways...ive been very scared to try a self tanner bc ive always heard bad thigns about them..but im soo pale that i NEED to try something!

Blueeyes, what did you hear? They are very safe.

Just finished applying Coppertone Moisture+Tanner...we'll see if it works!!:):wave2:

:sunny:

I use Banana boat Sunless Tanning Creme. It seems to work pretty well, and not leave streaks.

You had skin cancer! I hope that they caught it early! This is so scary, I can't stay out of the sun although I use sunscreen.

I've read about certain types of clothing that is made with an SPF. I can't remember who makes it though. If I find out, I'll let you know!:sunny:

The nice smell is what sold me on it. Some of them really have a nasty 'salty' smell that makes me ill.

Another vote for loreal Sublime bronze gelee.
I'm VERY pale, and it looks natural.

My family finally got me out of the tanning bed recently. I found Coppertone sunless tanning - Foam. I love it! It doesn't streak or make you orange. One tip though, wash your fingernails good afterwards or your cuticles will tan!:sunny:

Do all of these wash off in the shower? Do any last longer than that?

I just recently ordered Avon's brand. I'm thinking I wasted my money. :(
