ok i love VMK, but some thinkgs just make me a little mad. first, i got very excited about the contest this weekend, only to find out friday that there was only one judge! so that was bad but not as bad as this.

my friend and i bought the THIS WEEKEND ONLY, clothes, even though we did not like them, to trade, me, being poor spent almost 1600 bucks on it and my friend bought ten adventurers outfits and five trucker hats, only to find out they still sell them!!!:badpc:

I am ticked that something that was sold as a special is now being sold with regular clothing. That was pretty misleading.

totally agree

I know! Its not like I bought ten copies of the outfits, but I was really worried that I wouldn't be able to afford them, and I spent a lot of time earnig credits this weekend so I could buy the new stuff (I am usually broke, I spend my money as soon as I see something I like). I thought the stuff I bought was going to be really exclusive.

It's so unfair how they still sale the tucker hats and stuff! Now it's not fun to trade with them... I mean I don't care about the explorer outfit but the tucker hats everyone wanted! But I don't think they will do that will the princess clothes! I mean even boys asked for my crown! crazy! and for them :earseek:

I was annoyed too! :( I really didn't even like the trucker hat, but bought it for the sole purpose of giving it to someone who missed the event. Now I'm just stuck with this hat that I won't ever wear. :confused3 I don't get why they did that!

I was less annoyed about the Explorer's outfit even though I bought several of those. I really liked it & got a couple planning to have my different characters wear them...and trade one if someone seemed desperate to have one.

I find myself playing vmk less & less. Their events leave much to be desired, the constant begging & being hit on by teenyboppers is getting old & there's just nothing new in the game! The old stuff is really getting old! Even with the changes to fireworks it's not really any harder or different than it was before! I mean the sequences have stayed the same - they just start with a different shape! (eg Tomorrowland stage 2 I think - there used to be a section where it went purple, red, purple, red, purple... Now it's the yellow daisy & the green swirl in the same groupings!)

exactly! i hate both of them i only wasted 1600 of my bucks to trade for oh i dont know, GOLDEN MICKRY EARS or MAGIC, now i will be lucky to get a ned pin for them!

Okay, maybe I'm the only one that likes that those clothes are still one sale. I don't have time to play alot and get a lot of credits, so I like being able to buy the clothes now. It never said anywhere, that I remember, that the items were this weekend only. I think we just assumed that because it had happened before. I do think that if they were on the 'specials' it would have been nice if they were a little less expensive than they are now in the 'regular' store. They brought back the crown as well this weekend. That gave people a chance to buy that. They will probably bring back the pins at some point too, maybe for a limited time.

In any case, when you buy on speculation there is never any guarantee. I'm sorry that you didn't make a killing on your investment, but I'm also glad that I'm not on the other end of that trade trying to get these items either.

I believe the notice about the weekend said that there would be "special" items for sale. And yes, it was based on past experience that those items would no longer be available. Had the notice stated that "new" items would be available I think we'd all feel a bit like we speculated & lost instead of annoyed.

While I agree that it is nice that the items are now available all the time for those who couldn't afford them or even get on over the weekend, it's vmk that is creating/promoting the idea of "limited editions" and high value. There was a thread here a while ago about just that. vmk designers were disappointed that people were buying extras to give out/trade at a later date because they wanted them to be "rare"....so they greatly reduced the resale value - which was never that high in the first place.

And maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think DarkSideMoon was looking to "make a killing" on that purchase. Trading golden Mickey ears for a 1600 credit outfit seems fair to me! The ears required a trip to the park, while the outfit required playing a LOT of games to earn those credits. Seems fair to me. :confused3

thank you, and yes i spent a good 2-3 hours trying to get that much money, and that being all i was doing for the night befor the event. also, i remember looking at it saying that its was only for this weekend, then they changed it on me. i could have spent those 160 credits on stuff i want, like the monorail poster, or pins.:sad2:

Not that this is a good reason, but is it possible that these items were not particularly popular, and thus they were left on sale? I was at my high school reunion and missed all of the fun, and when I returned I was truly surprised that some items were still available for purchase. To be honest, I didn't like any of them. I would have purchased the pins and crown though. Perhaps this is a way to generate some extra spending. I would be angry if I had spent my hard-earned credits though. The disappointment is certainly justified and understandable.
