nervous wreak before they go to DL? I am as nervous as you can get? How will the weather be, will my flight be delayed due to weather, will we crash, will my kids act up, will i forget something.. blah blah blah... is this normal.. I feel so excited that it is almost time to go, but at the same time almost sad, cuz all of this planning and stuff will be over (trip and all) in a little over 2 weeks.. lol I even have stupid dreams about this.. lol:rolleyes1 I swear I am not crazy, I just want the best vacation ever! anyone else get these feelings as time gets closer?

You're not alone. Last year I stressed so much about my trip. It was my DS first trip and I wanted it to be so memorable for him. I had recently gone through a divorce, moved, new job..lots and lots of changes and I worked SOOOOOOOOO HARD to make it a nice trip. It was just that. Everything just fell into place. If the flight is delayed..you'll still get there. The kids can act up at home just as well as at Disneyland. My son was wonderful there....so much going on he didn't think about misbehaving. I was really sad for my planning to end as well........but now here I am a year later doing it again. The hardes thing for me was leaving the parks. After all my son and I had gone through the year or so before I didn't want to go back to "reality". I wanted us to stay there forever......it was a very emotional trip (in a good way) for the two of us. All I can say is relax and let it happen....you'll have a good time no matter what, You're at disneyland :)

I become obsessed with this board about a month before my Disney trip.

I always worry most about the crowds. I hate crowds!!!

But even if it's crowded or cold and raining it's always better than being at work!

I always worry most that my kids will get sick. I start getting paranoid within a week before we leave and I want to keep them away from who seems like they might be sick! :)

ahh the sick issue.. we are dealing with that right now.. dd4 just got over double pneumonia last week now she is throwin up.. son had the tummy bug last weekend so hopefully we are done with all of this now and can have a good time.. lol

Bc we always seem to get sick in Dec & Jan - I was scared of all viruses! I boosted our immune systems, I was being cautious - didn't matter. We all got it pretty bad right after Xmas. Luckily we got it out of the way but now my fingers are permanently crossed.

From experience & being such a neurotic planner I now know there is only so much I can do. I hope it works out & hope for clear skies & easy traffic....but who knows. I've done MY best to be precautionary & prepared - the rest is out of my hands. ;)

Don't stress - its not good for you. We flew out of Chicago Illinois on Dec 6th - my Dad was just panicking for weeks. He was petrified that we had all this money in the trip & we would have a huge snow storm & wouldn't be able to get to California.

Well, guess what.....he stresses so much he gave himself the Shingles!

Do yoga, or relaxation...that is the last thing you need before a wonderful trip....the miserable shingles.

I will say a prayer for you tonight:)

All will be well. Go see Alladin and relax.
I am a very detail oriented planner and always have thoughts on what can go wrong but except for some small stuff everything works out.

I am a worrier, and just like you I get nervous and I stress about every trip. The bright side about being a worrier is this: Rarely do things EVER turn out as bad as all the little worst-case scenarios I create in my mind--in fact they never turn out like that.

Your trip will be great!!! Bring on that Disney magic!! :smickey:

I get worried just before each trip, such as dreams that you show up at the airport after a several hour drive to find out you left your plane tickets.

Even when not dreaming you keep calling and checking up on your reservations to make sure everything is still going alright, or checking your packing list to make sure you remembered everything. Its horrible, but thats why I am thankful for this site cause it brings me back to reality and it helps to know we all feel this way.

Another planning worrier here! :rolleyes1

I start dreaming strange dreams in the weeks before we leave. I have to call to reconfirm all the reservations. I'm packed up weeks ahead of time and worrying constantly about what I have forgotten to pack. We arrive at the airport hours before our departure just to make sure nothing goes wrong.

Fortunately, after 7 trips, I think we are starting to get the hang of it and have worked out most of the kinks. So far everything has always gone pretty much according to plan. (Well, except once when we arrived at the hotel and the clerk said our reservation that I had booked 9 months earlier had been canceled... I think he looked into my eyes and realized it would NOT be good to leave ME stranded because he "fixed" it immediately. Could it have been the crazed look I had? :crazy2: ) Heaven help me, or the person in my path, if ever a FLAW pops up that really ruins my plans!

Isn't it simply AMAZING how walking through those gates suddenly brings on such a magical sigh of relief! pixiedust:

1. Remember that even with the most tenacious planning, things can and do go wrong on occasion. Let Disney be "magical" and don't try to cram too much into each day. Enjoy the little things at Disney that make it magical.
2. Things happen when you are flying. Make sure to have a small tote filled with things like coloring books, sticker books and other "entertainment" options to keep the kids occupied during any possible delays. If you are prepared for a delay, they probably won't happen. If you are not prepared, they will.
3. Take a bubble bath after you put the kids to bed. Breath and relax. You WILL have a great time.
