Anyone else try to find the "PERFECT" Disney bag or stroller?

We went to Maine over the weekend and I've got to say again that I love the Pliko! Took the baby for 3 walks when she was fighting a nap and it worked all 3 times. She didn't even fuss when I put her in the stroller like she did at home with the MacLaren. DH took baby and DS for a walk early one morning so they wouldn't wake everyone else up and said stroller was a charm with DS on back even on the dirt road.

We saw my friend from FL who comes to do Disney with us. She has a DD(5) who is still using her travel system stroller but its so heavy, bulky and its tough for the girl to get in with the stationary front bar. I highly recommended the Volo to her and since DD is smaller than my DS(3) she should get lots of use out of it. I told her about livingincomfort. What a great price-especially for the accessory pack!

Hey, LovesDumbo--
I think Peg Perego needs to offer you a commission on every Pliko sold to a DISer. I know you convinced me :)

Mine should be here any day now . . .

Sorry if I missed an earlier post that addressed this, but I was wondering if anyone has actually done Disney/transportation/flying with the Pliko. I have one and am debating whether or not to bring it along because it's not the lightest/simplest folder. I also want my 15 month old to be comfy so in that respect it may be better than my umbrella (although my Inglesina is pretty cushy for an umbrella). Note: I also have a sit and stroll that I'm definitely using for the plane trip, but I don't see it being as great for the parks (no recline, sunshade not terrific). Any Disney experienced Pliko drivers out there?

 I did learn about it here on Dis. My DH just brought the girls for a walk hoping baby would nap but he took the Graco Duoglider and she's wide awake! Hope your DD loves Pliko as much as mine does.

Missus Toad-how's your baby at home in the Inglesina? I knew my baby wasn't real happy in my Maclaren umbrella but she loves sitting straight up in the Pliko and I think she appreciates the "freedom" of that harness that isn't attached to the seatback. I did purchase the air transport bag made for the Pliko for the plane ride after viluvsdisney said her canopy was damaged. I got it online for $29.99 with free shipping.

Daisylove-a 12 can cooler for the parks? That sounds a kinda big. I thought you were going to cut down on what you bring...:teeth:

Here's a link to reviews of Plikos in the parks:
Take a Pliko to Disney?

I know, I know. What is sad is that is cutting down.Actually it is one of those collapsable/expandable ones and it really isn't too big. Fits fine in the volo basket.:D I figure it will give the stroller a little bit more weight when DD is not in it besides being money saving. You know I noticed when we were there last week tons of people had those rolling collers and rolling backpacks. I thought Disney did not allow those? See, I could be a lot worse!lol.

We used an older model Pliko on 2 trips - when dd was 9 months and 2nd dd was 6 months. We've also made numerious trips/flights in Australia and it finally retired after our last trip. It's a great stroller and was great in airports and on the bus (though heavier than a normal umbrella stroller). The fact it is self standing is great when waiting for buses and holding on buses. All this talk is making me think of getting another one. Youngest dd is now 3 and we had planned on getting the Mickey stroller from Walmart when we arrive. We have the umbrella stroller we bought for dd who was 3 on our last trip but it doesn't have a good bastket or cup holder.
I love this tread. Makes me realize I'm not alone :-).

After looking at this thread, we decided to buy the Schwinn Sport Utility (Umbrella) Stroller. In fact I even paid extra to have it get here in time for our fair on Friday! Thanks for sharing your stollers with us!

crl
Let us know how the Schwinn is. I had the older version by Instep and it was great. Only thing was my DD would step on the footrest with al her weight when climbing in and it eventually broke because of it. Of course it broke in Epcot after illuminations with the mad rush on.:( . Other than that I really liked that stroller.

crl-looks like we'll be in the world at the same time. Are you going to MNSSHP? We'll be there the 26th with my kids as Peter Pan, Wendy and Tinkerbell.

lovesdumbo - We haven't bought tickets for the event yet. We're waiting till we get there and figure out if dd will be able to stay away long enough to make it worth it. (She'll be 17 months)

This is off topic but crl brings up something I have been wondering. Do MVMCP ever sell out or canyou buy event tix like this at the time of the event?

some night do sell out, but if you are there for a couple of nights you should be able to get tix to one of them.

we are taking dd 14months to the halloween party - I am expecting(hoping?) she will eventually fall asleep in her stroller.

Got to say that I used the blue DS carpet bags to evacuate down here for Francis and it was great. I actually bought 3 one for me and 2 to give away but in the circumstances I used 2 for our family and I could not be happier with them.

Yes, I also took the volo in the trunk of the car. There wasno way I was going to lose that stroler after all the agonizing over purchasing it.

Happyto say the hurriane went north of us and we only got some trees down (Not happy in the way I am happy it hit anywhere/anyone. Just happy for us personally that we have a house left.)

Definitely let us know what you think of this one when you get back! :)

daisylove, glad to hear you were spared any major damage.

AWESOME BAG!

very comfortable. lots of pockets to store stuff separately. The compartment where I put the diapers and extra clothes was a little smaller than I was expecting, but that was probably a good thing. Helped me limit what I carried.

The cooler compartment worked great.

Highly recommend it.

Ok I have done it again. Bought another bag with the thought of taking it to WDW. This time it is a mini backpack (very cute - pink) it has three compartments plus pocket on front. The middle compartment is actually a zipper to expand it out to a smallish duffel. (maybe 1 1/2 feet long)I figure for Xmas party I could stuff our sweatshirts in the middle while it is expanded and all our other misc wallet, camera, glowsticks, autograph etc in the other pockets. Then as we put on the sweatshirts I just collapse it and use it like a mini backpack. What do you think? Oh it is from K-mart kids section 1/2 price at $6.95. Trying to bring less in the parks but I know we will want to have the warmer clothes asit gets later.

I feel like I'm obsessing over every thing this time. This is crazy. i dont have car space for a stroller so we will be heading out to Walmart on the way in and buying a cheap, just above an umbrella stroller. I have looked at them at home and am praying the the Walmarts in Orlando carry them. LOL. I'll need a vacation from my vacation planning after all of this.

WOW! That looks like a great bag! I may have to buy it! That does look just perfect! Except the price of course. I've really got to get to work but I'm going to see if I can use the mousesavers link for 20% off at ebays. I'll report back.

Daisylove-I like the idea of a "MINI" backpack! (Of course the baby sherpa doesn't look too mini-I did see that they are coming out with a new smaller version but not in time for our trip.) Maybe you'll get lucky and have the type of weather I had at MVMCCP and not need sweatshirts.

luvit-I know just what you mean about obsessing over the planning. I know I'm crazy but I'm hoping this trip will be the one that wins over DH! He just isn't crazy about WDW. Likes it enough but doesn't understand why I need to return. I'm hoping if I plan it just right with enough rest & relaxation coupled with lots of fun he'll see the magic! And how can he not see the magic in the eyes of his 5, 3, and 20 month olds! Hey look at that counter of yours. Have a great trip!!!

I am trying the same thing. My DH is not that crazy over WDW and I am hoping a magical holidaytime trip will hook him. Otherwise its just me and DD for the future trips. I am actually hoping that it is cool. We livein Miami and we ususally have to go north for even a little cooler weather so I have my fingers crossed.DH also likes cooler weather so it will add to the magic of the trip.
