Anyone else try to find the "PERFECT" Disney bag or stroller?

I went through 3 strollers before I found the perfect one. We started with a big Peg Perigo pram (too big for Disney), then took my DH's cousin's advise for a cheapie folding stroller which was too short to push comfortably, then bought a Combi Savvy which broke twice, both times at WDW and then finally settled on a Maclaren Techno (http://www.maclarenbaby.com/US/pages/technoclassic.html). It was a workhorse! It made it through many Disney trips without flinching, came with a custom-fit rain cover and the handles are high enough so you don't stoop over. I wish I bought it as my first one.

Well, I ordered the Pliko P3 last night. I confessed my sin to my DH this morning and his reaction was much more subdue than I expected (I think he agrees that baby will be more comfy and she's worth every penny!).

I'm off this afternoon in search of the perfect backpack/cooler. I already own 12 coolers! Well at least they are NOT nearly $200 each! If I have no luck at the outlet malls I'll be checking CVS!

The Pliko P3 sounds great but I can't justify that until and unless we actually have another child. I have had the Volo for 1 week now and I am dying to take it out. I think I will plan a day trip to Disney (exhausting) just to try it out. :0) or maybe just to the mall today. Addiction is a baaaad thing. I actually caught myself looking at a cooler yeaterday when I know I have the perefct one already.lol

lovesdumbo let us know what you find.

What and where is CVS?????

Also, K=Mart has the basic Disney umbrella stroller on clearance for $3!!!!!!!

I thought CVS was all over the U.S.!
It's a really nice pharmacy. I live in CT and I have seen CVS's all over New England and New York. I don't know if it is anywhere further.

CVS

We are just getting CVS down here in south fla. Its like a suped up walgreens or eckard. A drug store that carries everything else.

Well, I did find a backpack cooler/picnic bag just like Daisylove's link at Le Gormet Chef for $29.99 but I decided against it. It looked a bit too bulky-hard to store on the rides when you're also helping a toddler get on. And I don't think we need to take too much to the park-just a sippy cup for the baby so the lunch size bag should be big enough. Oh yeh and I think I've got 10 backpacks already! And a full size waist pack and 3 fanny packs and 2 "field" bags....I think I do have a problem.

UPS says the Pliko is already in MA so it should arrive here on Monday. I think I'll order the air transport bag for it and maybe a mesh bag to hang off the handles....or maybe rather than the mesh bag I should make due with one of the 6 diaper bags I already have:crazy:

Daisylove-how do you/DD like the Volvo?

I did buy 2 new wallets in the search of the perfect small wallet. I bought a really nice one at Coach-a bit bigger than I wanted but had a zip coin purse and was slim and only $39 and it will last forever since its Coach. Then I found the perfect lime green nylon very small wallet with zip coin purse for $7.95 at Eddie Bauer. I did have to buy it! It is the perfect Disney wallet. I'm not quite so bad with wallets. I have the one I use everyday, a small one that I had before that that got damaged getting so wet on Kali River Rapids and a cloth wallet that was a gift. Oh and I think I've got an old nylon one someplace.

We love love the volo. Since my DD is already 5 and really! tall for her age it did not make sense to get the higher end stroller (I know, I know I just bought a stroller for $103 for a FIVE year old  )It really is only a Disney stroller but just to make me feel better about it I will make her sit in it every time we go to the mall.:D The height between the canopy and her head is great and it pushes like a dream. I had been using an Aprica that I got at a consignment store. I really like it (especially hos it closes and will stand on its own) but the canopy is too close to her head and it looks terribly uncomfortable. I am seriously starting to plan a trip to WDW just to try the stroller.

The backpack is a little bulky with the water cooler attachment but I tried it on loaded when we went to the seaquarium and it was actually comfortable. I ususally take a fanny pack for camera, $, room key and phone and everything else is in Backpack which I leave in stroller. By the end of the day the cooler part is empty and I will load it up with the fanny bag and miscellaneous stuff we collect(or buy in my case) so that leaving the park we have one bag and stroller. it works for us.:D When I cannot justify DD in a stroller anymore we will have to pare down.
:D

OK in my long reply just now I forgot 2 things. One to admit that I broke down and bought the carpet bag at DS.com for $9.99 (down from $59 it was a deal)
Two, lovesdumbo. I just saw today the maclaren universal organizer in the flesh so to speak on a stroller at B-day party and it looks great. It attaches with velcro and has a very good size mesh bag and two places for cups or bottles and a place for phone or whatever. I think from seeing it would fit on any stroller. Found a link

hey moms-

Although it does not recline, I have to tell you that our new Sit n' Stroll (available at Hammacher Schlemmer or at Skymall.com) is the coolest, and most convenient for travel. It is a combination carseat/stoller where the wheels and handle fold up inside. You can roll it right down the plane aisle, then pop it right into the sear, same for the car, so it eliminates having to wake the sleeping baby to move them into the car. Our 8 month old sleeps in there just fine. Says it is good to 40 lbs, /i think. Anyway, just my $.02 - we do get alot of comments on it tho' when we're out.
Smiles!princess:

Ive seen the sit and strolls at Disney. They look cool. My DD is just too big for it. Maybe if we have another...

We have a lightweight Kolcraft stroller that I love. It is light, has a basketat the bottom to hold things, reclines (this was a big must for me) and even has a cup holder at the top. It has been great and held up very well through everyday use and many trips. The only downside is that it seems to be very popular and I couldnt tell you many others we saw at Disney, lol. But I have a lime green ribbon on mine ;)

Too funny-I bookmarked this bag when I was searching for the airline bag for the Pliko! It's on my list to consider but I really think I should make due with what I've got. Maybe if I could see it in person-if that bottle holder would hold a sport size water bottle then I might just have to get it!

Oh yeh and when I was at the outlets I saw a family of 4 with the Pliko and they LOVED it! The baby looked very comfy & the older boy looked very happy standing on the back. Now I've got to worry about my 2 older kids fighting over it.

I do ot know about if the Maclaren prganizer would fit a sport bottle. The one I saw had a Mcdonalds cup in it and it looked like my Brita would be fine in it. I am tempted but I will be bringing the backpack which I will hook over the back and I have the lionheart cup attachment which is really all I need...

Today I'm really leaning toward NOT buying another bag. Trying to control myself. I think I'll pack a few diapers/wipes in a large clear zip lock bag so I can just keep it in the stroller basket and everyone can see that its nothing-that way I don't have to drag those onto the rides and don't have to worry that someone will take the stroller in hopes that the diaper bag has something good in it. Then I'll take one of my many backpacks for the few other things we need including a lunch size cooler. I have some sort of bottle holder that I bought for my MacLaren and never put on. I've read that the bottle holder that comes with the Pliko is WAY too small so maybe that other bottle holder (that I already own!) is all I really need.

I have one more shopping addiction to confess to. Activity books! I just can't help myself. Some I get through Bookcloseouts.com a great site for cheap books and we have a store here-Ocean State Job Lot-that sells coloring books for 99 cents. I just can't help myself. Got some great Fisher Price Little People sticker books, Hot Wheels sticker books, Monster's Inc. activity book, Bamby sticker book, Sponge Bob, Dora.....I sorted through it all last night. I must have at least 30-enough to last lots of trips and rainy days ahead! I also couldn't help myself when Staples had 24 count Crayola crayons on sale for 19 cents! Who doesn't love a brand new box of crayons? I'm not sure I had to buy 10 boxes though. They also had 8 pack washable markers (Roseart maybe not Crayola) for 88 cents. We're driving to Maine 4+ hours this weekend so we'll be using a few books on the rides to/from. I'll give them Dora, Sponge Bob, Bob the Builder-save the Disney ones for our Disney trip!

The perfect WDW stroller IS the Peg Perego Pliko P3. I have the Sportivo with the zip off hood. I love it. We used it in WDW in MArch for my then almost three year old. It was perfect, and bright red, so easy to spot. Almost no other red strollers around!! The tray is great, recline is good, and she was very comfy. Only complaints were that it basically won't fold with anything in the basket, so plan on putting everything in a bag under there so you can pull it out quickly to board the bus, monorail etc. , also, one of the latches that keeps it closed broke. The parent cup holder is also almost useless. Way too small around.
I am a huge Maclaren fan, but decided against my 2001 Vogue because the shade is not all that big. I had planned on taking the P3 when we go in 10/04, because of the running board, this time we are taking the baby, so I thought that the three year old can hop on the P3 in a pinch, and we would rent for her in the parks. The DH pointed out that after all day in the park, we would need something for her at the resort, and if we go to DTD or anywhere. ( Whoops, Mommy never thought of that!! )
So, I started my campaign for aa SBS Maclaren. He would not go for it, and not only for the 300 bucks. He insisted it was "way too wide"I told him that WDW rents SBS doubles, so they are manageable, but I lost. He convinced me to get, of all things, a Graco Duoglider!!!
Now, I admit to being a big stroller snob, I like the expensive ones. But I do like this, and for the money, it can't be beat. The wheels are plasticky, and it is not the kind of thing you would be selling second or third hand on Ebay in six years, as I just did with an old Peg Perego dopuble, but the basket is huge, it steers well, and the girls are comfy in it and it looks like for my two, this is my "perfect Disney Stroller." We tested it out at the Zoo on Sunday, and it works. I told DH how big it was folded, and the Mac was more Umbrella like, but he said he did not care, and he would lug it on the bus. OK!!

But for only one, or one and an older child, the P3 is the answer!!Good luck with your quest!!

The Lands End Little Tripper Diaper bag was the PERFECT WDW bag. Just the right size for the essentials, but not huge. Two water bottle holders on the outside, and open compartment on the back for maps and timesheets. The front zips open to reveal a wallet section and other storage, and it has some mesh holders inside the bag itself. The inside of the bag is light blue, so you can easily see your stuff, No bottomless black hole. Also it is sporty looking, not girly, so DH won't resist carrying it for a while!!

I took all the baby stuff out of it, the changing pad, wet clothes bag, etc, so it was not a diaper bag at all.

By the way, the wet clothes bag was great for the stroller rain hood, and the rain ponchos. I just threw it in the basket of the stroller everyday.

At only 19.50, It is great, and will be well used for many WDW trips to come. Babies, diapers or not!!

Anyone ever find a really lightweight double stroller? They all seem to be around 25 pounds. I have a regular lightweight Kolkraft that I love. We bought a double last year and I hate the thought of hauling that thing around Disneyworld on and off the tram, etc. My boys are 4 and 1. I was thinking of bringing the regular stroller and an umbrella stroller for the 4 year old. Anyone try this? Is having two strollers too much?
