I was thinking about Christmas yesterday morning and came on to find a thread about Christmas gift ideas for coworkers! lol.
So is anyone else starting to think about Christmas or have even started shopping?
I am so far ahead of myself this year it's scary, but I have actually started making the Christmas List :scared1:

I've started thinking about it, but not acting on it yet. I still have both of my kids birthday's to get through yet before I do. I usually start in October during our trip to WDW. I have no clue what I am going to get the kids this year.

I try not to think about it too much, but I have already bought a few gifts in the past months. I try to catch things when I find them marked down to a steal. It will be here before we know it and I will still be scurrying at the last minute to get things done!!

We have been talking about Christmas some. DS is 14 and hard to get. Things change regularly with him so we kind of have to wait. DD is only 8 months so I am watching sales and what not. I still have no idea what to get her. Her first birthday is Dec 7 so I have both at once. I figure I will go out on Black Friday and get some deals for her birthday and Christmas. I am watching the clearance racks now though.

I normally don't start until November but have been putting a list together. I think this yer I am going to start early. Sometimes that is a bad thing for me though because I end up spending more!!
I love my black friday shopping but I like to do that for myself!! lol

DH and I were just trying to decide i we should get the computer DS wants this weekend (tax free) or wait until Black Friday. I want the best deal!!!

There is a Christmas shopping thread going over on the family board. I got teacher gifts during the after-Christmas sales last year so those are done. Other than that I have an idea of what I want to get for the kids and I've picked up a couple of stocking stuffers when I've seen them, just a magic towel at the dollar tree and some bath fizzies that were free after coupon at Walmart.

I still have one more birthday in Sept. to shop for before I really start Christmas shopping, though.

ETA: I forgot, I did pre-order Epic Mickey for DS for Christmas because I had a $10 promotion code on Amazon and a $5 GC from Swagbucks that I wanted to use.

I'm almost done. Woo! We are cutting back again this year so that makes it easier. The kids are getting three gifts each. One fron Santa and two from mommy and daddy.

DD is done thanks to Target clearance. I have two more things to get for DS. My nephew will get a certificate to the Y. My stepmom, aunts and cousin will get vera bradley totes that I bought for $19 each. My mom will get a certificate to a nice resaturant where she and her freinds like to go. The grandmas get photos.

FIL and MIL are the hardest to buy for so I'm giving DH a $ limit and letting him deal with it this year.

My brother takes care of my dad, uncles and boy cousins. We don't exchange with our brothers and their significant others and DH and I aren't going to exchange gifts either.

I'm almost done with the 3 youngest. Older DD I'm waiting until right before Christmas as she's too old to pre-shop for (mostly) although DH is pre-ordering some guitar hero thing for her I believe. I'll also end up picking up whatever video game deals I can get around Christmastime but those are whole family gifts.

I've already started brainstorming craft ideas for the kids to make for the g-parents. And I already ordered and received a bunch of holiday craft items for the kids' classes.(clearanced at Oriental Trading Company plus $10 off and free shipping!)

Yes, started buying a few things a couple months ago when I found them on sale. Cutting back on buying this year, and doing things that mean more- being with family. Our Daughter is recovering from a Bone Marrow Transplant (Leukemia) and it has made all of us look at life more closely. Were hoping she'd be well enough to go to Disney for Christmas, but that won't happen this year.
Keep watching for sales, I seem to see some great deals out there as the economy continues to struggle. I just buy when things are on clearance...:thumbsup2

Yep, so far, got my oldest a camera and my middle...zoobles(??? I think) AKA the expected toy of the year. Nothing for the little one yet!

 My 11yo DS went through this 7 years ago, my thoughts are with your daughter, I hope she has a speedy recovery.

 Lots of P&PT to your DD. I hope she is well very soon.

We're drawing names for Christmas at our family crab feast in a couple of weeks.

They look like a cross between baukgan (sp?) and littlest pet shops. Never heard of them before. Cute.

Honestly, I kinda always have Christmas and holidays on my mind. I try to shop the sales and clearances year round, to pick up those little gifts for friends, acquaintances, little thank yous that seem to add up. I picked up some winter clothing on clearance in the spring, stuff that will still be appropriate later this year.

I tend to save buying for kids and young adults until closer to December, but try to get a lot done during Black Friday and Cyber Monday for them. You never really know what they're going to be into. Seems to change week to week!

Come Thanksgiving, I hope to be mostly done so I can just enjoy the holiday decorations and parties.

The only thing about waiting till black friday for electronics is that they only have a limited supply!! (atleast around here they do!) I remember getting to Circuit City one year when they were still in business at midnight (they didn't open till 6am) and the guy said they only had 10 of the computers and passed out tickets to the first 10 people in line who were there for the computer. So when it comes to electronics I get them earlier than black friday.
Also, whatever you are looking at you can look on amazon.com because sometimes they are cheaper!

My hardest part about buying for Christmas is buying my father!!!! He never wants anything, has no hobbies! I am completely clueless about what to get him. He makes the holidays so difficult:lmao:

I have bought all the toy gifts for my girls except for one more thing for my older DD. I need to get them a few books and some stocking stuffer things, and they're done. DD1's birthday is 12/22, and I need to pick her up some clothes, and that's done. Now I'll start to focus on our families and other birthdays.
