I leave Sunday for 7 glorious days in WDW and I can't sleep!! I've been looking forward to this trip for so long now, and now that the time has finally come I'm so excited!! You would think this is my FIRST time going to WDW. :lmao: Oh well....I'll scan the boards here for awhile then go and try to get to sleep. :rotfl2:

I am like that every night before we leave for Disney World. The last 2 times we went to Disney our flight out of Dallas was at 7am. We had a car picking us up at 5am. We'd go to bed around midnight and "attempt" to go to sleep but yeah it never worked. We'd be up talking and fall asleep for about an hour and next thing we knew the alarm was going off. I would usually just crash on the plane as soon as we pulled away from the gate. :lmao:

This is me - I get a nap on the plane too.

Yea, and I have a week left yet :D

We leave THREE WEEKS from Sunday and I don't know if I'll make it! UGH! I will live vicariously through you until I am there myself. Have a blast! :goodvibes

Hi Cee!! Well I'm almost on my way!! I'm bringing my notebook so I should be able to do daily reports. This has been the LONGEST week in my life! I know I shouldn't rush things especially at "my age" but I can't wait to be in "my happy place" tomorrow!! :thumbsup2

I also have a hard time sleeping while I am here. I get so excited and then find it hard to unwind. Pretty ridiculous for someone my age.

How about someone "our" age!!! LOL...you would think this was my first time at WDW!! It's got to be 40 something times by now!!

Enjoy - we leave a week from today for 7 days in WDW. Next friday night I will be feeling the same way you do. That is what makes WDW so special, I dont know how they do it, but we are as excited now as we have ever been. Less nerves because we now have our routine down, and never have a hectic vacation. No commado park hopping, we just do our thing at our pace.

The one thing about this vacation that is bitter-sweet is that our DD is now in first grade, and I am not sure how many more times we will be able to travel with her off-season. I cannot see us going during Easter Break or Summer, so we are going to have to figure something out. But that is for somewhere down the road - right now I am just waiting for a week in WDW

The summer isn't as bad as you'd think. I use to go all the time during the summer months when our son was young. Yes it's hot and yes the crowds can sometimes be overwhelming. But if you just take your time and schedule pool time and downtime you're fine!! Easter time....NEVER!!! I never even entertained that idea!!!

See how things work out. I think DS was maybe in the second or third grade when we stopped taking him out. Then again it's up to the school. But like you said..."that's down the road".

Thanks for the info - I guess I would consider late Aug/early Sept, but even then it seems like a tough decision. Summers are short here in NY, so we love our Florida trips not only because of WDW, but we get that extended summer - some pool time etc...

Our DD6 is in first grade this year, we had no problem with Kindergarten, but did get a note from the district about unexcused absences. So - we will see how things go over this year in 1st grade. I am thinking we might get to do next year before having to rethink our WDW strategy!

I can never sleep the night before we leave either. 5 or 6 am can't come soon enough. We are leaving in 5 weeks, but I am trying not too think about it too much yet....We take our kids out of school and they are now in 5th, 10th, and 11th grade. So far, it has worked out ok. I can't say it is great to take them out for a week, but for us it is better than a holiday week and our kids rarely miss school for anything else.

If I thought I had a problem sleeping last night I can't wait to see what happens tonight!! I leave in the morning on a 7:20 am flight. I can see it now; I'll be here on the internet all night!!! :surfweb::surfweb:

For me, the worst night is the last one because I usually have to get up for the early flight and it's like my body is afraid to fall asleep because it's just going to be woken up....grrrr... Here's hoping you ARE able to get a good night's rest!

On Monday I came home from a 5 night visit, and it was great weather and a "just about perfect" vacation. I wish the same for you!:wizard:

Thanks Bobbi!

We'll be there the same time as you! We're leaving this Friday and spending two days at Universal. But then Sunday we're headed over to WDW for seven days.

It seems like forever since the last time we were there...which was in January for our honeymoon.

I'm definitely very excited and really looking forward to it. However, the thing that's bringing me down is leaving our 7 month old puppy home. :( This will be our first time leaving him for so long, but he'll be well taken care of by my parents. I'm sure I'll be fine once we get there though...I hope!

Same here. Woke up WAY too early this morning and have a feeling this will be the case all week. We have 4 days to go!! Oh well....hope we get a nap on the plane!:banana::banana::banana:

I can certainly relate to Disney insomnia, but I have beaten it. Our first trip was in the late 70s and I swear I would be delerious with loss of rest when we went to WDW. Fast forward about 35 years and with dozens of trips under our belts I can finally get to sleep both before the trips and while on property. The only remedy is frequent WDW trips and knowing that none of those trips will be the last. :earsboy:

Yep, I can't ever get enough sleep in the days leading up to trip; the Disney Channel in my mind cannot be turned off :rotfl: !!!

You have a fantastic trip Linda & look forward to hearing all about it in your TR ! My family & I will be at my parent's place in Poconos this weekend but you'll be having a magical time at the World pixiedust:, but one of these days we'll manage to meet up in Pa.

Enjoy your adventure !
