.. of hearing the word promotion??

Saw this in someones signature yesterday, and thought it pretty much summed up how I feel.

YES!! Like telling us that over and over is going to make us come around and see things their way. Not happening! If VMK was meant to be a limited-time promotion it should have been stated as such right from the very beginning and that's exactly what I plan to tell them in my next letter.

Everytime I hear "promotion" it's like getting slapped in the face with a dead fish. Each time it gets a little older and stinkier.

almost EVErything Disney does these days is a PROMOTION!!!

I think we are all sick of it!!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I did realize that it was a giant

PROMOTION

for the Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Celebration. Disney had made itself clear about that from the beginning, I believe.

But what Disney hasn't acknowledged was that VMK turned into a

COMMUNITY

with a social network bigger than what anyone could have expected.

So please don't tell me that Disney hadn't said VMK was a promotion. I know better. I'm just very disappointed that three years of my time getting to enjoy the game, the people, the COMMUNITY....will be gone in a flash.

Meanwhile, I will spend the rest of my time enjoying VMK for the short time that is left, and you will not see me whining about how unfair it is. Life's not fair, and we move on.

:confused3 Yes I relised this Quite A LONG WHILE ago!
But If VMK is like a offer for burgers than it just makes me feel why on the earth am i trying to save it. As Much as we all like vmk and burgers we would not want a burger offer to stay on forever.
I know this was hard thing to admit to myself:confused3

At some point I did hear that VMK was a promotion for the 50th anniversary. I didn't even start playing until March 2007, and we were way past the 50th celebration by then. So I figured all that meant was that, that was the reason the game was started .. not why it should end.

I was watching a travel show about the various Disney parks and they mentioned how the Parade of Dreams at WDW was a promotion created to celebrate the 50th, I guess some promotions last longer than others!

While I realized very early on that VMK was a promotional tool to get people into the parks, at the time, I had not heard about it being solely for the 50th celebration. I didn't hear that until quite a few months after I started in September '05.

After all, if it was all about the 50th, why didn't the 50th items show up from the beginning? The yellow 50th chair and lamp didn't show up until April 2006. The green chair didn't show up until July 2006. The only thing in VMK that was there early on that was actually directly related to the 50th was the Happiest Celebration on Earth Poster. The gold collection that was available in the parks didn't even say anything about the celebration.

I still don't buy that is was only a promotion for the 50th Anniversary. Show me some proof from April-June '05 that says specifically that it was and I may concede to that point.

great signature but now i want a burger and hopefully i can get on free!:goodvibes
