....with a file attached called 62368.zip?

The email title is: A powerful tool

The email body is: Hi,This is a very powful tool
I expect you would enjoy it.

THIS IS ALL IT SAYS!! It's looks scary. I don't open stuff like this. Anyone know anything about it?

Anyone else get one?

I remember once a while back how someone was using "Deb's" email address to send JUNK to folks. Is this what's happening here?

I have been getting them quite regularly of late. Norton Anti-Virus nails them all. Don't open it, delete it. Do you have an anti-virus program? Is it current with up-to-date definitions (new at least every week)?

Yes, my McAfee is up-to-date. My husband is the one who gets to fix everyone ELSE's computers who don't have virus software.

We are on AOL -- so you get to read the body of email BEFORE deciding if you want to download. I WASN'T planning on downloading it. Figured it was junk. Really just wanted to warn others.

I've been getting lots of stuff like this lately with zip files attached & vague text, but NOT from email addresses I recognize.

Thanks.

"A powerful tool" is one of the titles being used lately with some virues. There are many more but this seems to be a popular one.

I'm not aware of any virus on our support@wdwinfo.com account. However, we don't send attachments with unknown titles -- I say delete anything with attachments unless you've asked for something, and we're sending it to you. (and that's not our usual MO, anyways)

Thanks Mary Jo. I knew you guys were more professional than to send an email so vague & with an attachment -- not to mention to spell "powful" wrong. LOL  :D

Consider it deleted. :D :smooth:

It's possible that someone here on the DIS that had support@wdwinfo.com in their address book has a virus. Most emailing viruses will randomly pull and address from your contact list to put as the 'return' address. It causes much more confusion when trying to track down the infected computer.

If your husband is a little tech savy, he should be able to go through the header information and find out who it's really from so you can tell them. Be aware that if you DO find out, please call them. Again, some viruses will monitor the mailbox and delete messages that contain the word virus and some such.

I hate email viruses.

That's surely what happend Jfulcer, the problem is that it is SO common it's not even worth notifying anyone.
As ALWAYS if you don't know who an attachment is from OR if it is from somebody you know but aren't expecting it, NEVER open it
