DH is driving the babysitter home. He took me to a fancy restaurant for our 6th wedding anniversary and our babysitter (bless her!) made sure the kids were in bed by the time we got home.

I'm drinking a white wine, surfing the web, waiting for DH to return. :hourglass

At any rate, DD5 has me hooked on HSM and she and I sing the songs all the time. I think it is a really fun movie and am looking forward to #2.

Anyone else?!?!

I must say that I am *not* psyched because I thought HSM 1 was just okay at best and I find that Disney sequels in general to be rather awful. My daughter (thankfully for Disney Corp she is part of their target audience) on the other hand is very excited about HSM 2 and is looking forward to the premiere on 8/17/07.

I am pretty excited...I thought the music was fun and catchy! DD12 is on the fence about it! She is almost getting "too cool" to admit that she still likes HSM! Secretly, I know she does!

We love it. The songs were catchy. But the bottom line is, how nice is it to be able to watch a movie (not animated) with the children that was completely appropriate?? They are far and few between these days. Even the supposedly good ones have something in them you would rather not expose the kids to.

We are having a HSM 2 pizza party to celebrate with DD and her friends. My daughter wants to make the dining room a cafeteria. We will set the food on the kitchen counter and the girls will get their "trays" and choose their foods. We are thinking real cafeteria- pizza, macaroni and cheese, jello etc... I think is a cute idea. :wizard:

I think that sounds cool. Our babysitter is 15 and she says she doesn't care what anyone else thinks, she still loves HSM. Of course, now my DD thinks they should 'hang out' and play with HSM Barbies. (Yes, we have all 4.)

My DS3 has an aritculation delay and cannot speak very well or very clear. He loves to sing along when we watch HSM and it is darling. "No, No, No, ... " is his best part from "Stick to the Status Quo."

Thanks for sharing!

I was looking forward to watching it with my DD9. Then, she got an invitation to a High School Musical 2 Sleepover that night. She dumped me!!
I'll have to watch it with DS6 and 11. I know they will watch it. DD and friends all love the movie and are very excited!

My DD17 will admit to anyone who ask her how much she loves it and her BFF is 18 and loves it as well. Both girls watch HSM with their younger siblings on a regular basis. They're having a party and have bought all of the paper plates, napkins, and favors they can get their hands on plus they're ordering a cake. They've invited friends, younger siblings, cousins, and anyone who wants to come plus they're giving out prizes. I think they've stepped off the deep end but it'll be fun for everyone. There are 20 of their friends invited (all juniors/seniors) plus anyones younger siblings & parents. I was planning on watching it with DD5 and niece 8 but now we're all going to the party. I hope I win the Corbin notebook!!!:rotfl2: (I need it for trip planning)

We're going to WDW in NOV and all they can talk about is the Pep Rally at MGM. The movie premiere will just get them more psyched for vacation and a whole new line of tunes to sing around the house. HSM ROCKS!!! Even my DS1 sings BOP BOP BOP :rotfl:

My daughter will be 7 in September and is excitedly waiting for August 17th! She is begging me to have a HSM2 Party with a few friends and I'm going to let her. She is really into all sorts of singing and dancing and the 'kids' in the movie are like very cool adults to her. She is very psyched!

Her twin brother and our younger son (a year younger) really enjoyed the first one but could take or leave the build up to #2. That is, until it actually comes on the TV and then we'll see! :happytv:

The weekend before my mom is having my 30th bday party for me. The theme...HSM of course :rotfl: . The main reason for the theme is that I am getting 2 HSM concert tickets for my bday. I'm going to surprise DD7 by inviting her to come with me.

What a neat idea.. I might just have to copy it..

DD sees the ad on TV for it and is all excited. DS is going to be at grandma's house so DD will be an only child. Might be kinda cool to do!!!!

I am so excited about it, I'm thinking of actually ditching the old rabbit ears for awhile and getting cable, just so I can watch it!!! Actually, my Mom has promised to Tivo it for me. My kids don't really care for it all that much though. Not sure what's wrong with them!

My DD12 LOVES HSM2 I agree with previous posters about it being approriate, I let my DD watch PG-13 movies...I have even let her see Jaws (wanabee R) but she cool about "it's not the rating that makes the movie good it's the plot and the message":)

We can't wait! My 2 girls love it (they are 9 and 7) and the older one is turning 10 in August and we are having her birthday sleepover that night (the 17th) as a Birthday Party/Movie Premiere party. It should be a lot of fun! Personally I loved the first one too and listen to the soundtrack often!

Allyson :)
