Anyone else plan a lot???...

In general, I love collecting information about lots of things anyway. I have notebooks (notice the plural) on WDW, with menus and tips printed out, old itineraries and air/ground/hotel confirmations, notes from everyone about things they liked and disliked for future reference, etc. Even if I'm not planning an actual trip, I regularly check back here at the DIS to make sure I don't miss that great idea. Reading and planning takes me back to WDW for a while, the best thing aside from physically being there. Luckily, my family considers this my hobby and simply accept my planning as something that I enjoy - and benefits them as well.

My DH thinks the amount of time I spend reading WDW guidebooks, planning our itinerary, and reading posts on this website is obnoxious. However, then when our trip is over he always comments to me and everyone else on what a great trip we had. He also refers his friends and family all to me with WDW planning/vacation questions. I just smile!

This could have been my response too. Our first trip I especially planned it all out, now we are on about our 10th trip. My husband tells others how much time my planning has saved the family and tells everyone to contact me if they have any questions. So I know he believes all the planning works. However, every trip when I try to get his opinion on something he just says whatever I want is fine and I just need to tell him where to go when. He is an agreeable guy most of the time.

Nothing wrong with planning. Even a lot of planning. Most people are spending a lot of money on these trips and it would be wise to plan things out so you get the most for your $$$. Thats the way I look at it. I would rather spend the time and effort before I go to plan and plan than to look back after the trip and see what I missed out on or where I should have gone to. I work hard for my money and like to see it used well. Being a planner and preparing is the only way to go to WDW.

Maybe your husband wasn't a boyscout - "be prepared".

Yep, I'm a planner too. I have been printing things out, taking notes, comparing prices for different ticket options, resorts, etc. I have so much information, that I made a Disney binder to put it all in. I even have little labeled dividers....I'm sick, I know I am on these boards every day, and DH thinks I'm pretty nuts since we have been to Disney many times before. Oh well, it will be worth it, and he won't be complaining when this is the best trip ever Like someone else said, you are spending a lot of $$$ on your vacation, why not get the most out of it? I just wish our trip wasn't 5 months away, I'm going to go nuts until then!

As I said in another post- planning and thinking about the Spring break trip is the only thing keeping me going with this cold weather and snow. I also have it planned out what park we will go to on what day. Where we will eat at each park. The only park I haven't decided on and any suggestions is great is MGM. We have PS for Chef Mickeys for Easter brunch, and PS for Spirit of Aloha. Rainforest Cafe looked interesting a AK.
My oh my so much to plan and so much fun to research and dream about.
As I said before, SPRING GET HERE NOW!!!!

Like most others on here I find that planning the trip is almost as much fun as going on the trip itself. I like to see if I can find a great money saving tip and I find it interesting to read the trip reports.
