Anyone else on the FOTF (Focus on the Family) cruise in November?

And, d@mn, they must have some clout to charter an entire DCL ship. Scary, that.

I bet they do, that line made me laugh! kept thinking of the saying "more money than God". We have a couple of churches in my parts that we call "Money Churches" they too go with their bottom line. All is geared on the almighty dollar, and they too cater to the masses to get the almighty dollar. One of these churches owns land in the most expensive neighborhoods (40MM worth) and their church headquarters is a mansion (think a slightly smaller Biltmore type) on the 11 acres next to the 40 mm plot. So yeah they are loaded. Not saying this is true for FOTF, but in this case WOW!
Maybe that is why this one went with DCL, they have a common goal, their bottom line.

FOTF's beliefs go against everything I believe in, but if they want to charter a boat, go for it. Saying Disney shouldn't do business with them is similar to their group preaching evil that it is perfectly ok for businesses to deny service to the LGBTQ community. Keeping it a charter so it doesn't affect their other travelers seems a good compromise by Disney. I do feel sorry for the children though who are raised in this closed cult.

However, I do think it would be wonderful if Disney played the "controversial" Beauty and the Beast, the movie that has been denounced as trying to push the gay agenda on our youth, 24/7 :rolleyes1

Oh, if they want to charter it and Disney is willing no problem. Just make it a full charter. (And I guess since it has no casino DCL is more palatable than other lines...)

I do believe that the new stage show should be going by then...and it is based more on the live-action film... Haha.

wow thank you all for ruining this thread. If you don't like FOTF go talk about it somewhere else. Clearly the first posters are all very excited. Talk about hate...

On the contrary, you are the one who may want to go chat about FOTF elsewhere. I'm sure you have a message board full of like minded people somewhere other than the Dis, no?

In the event you had not noticed, here you will find that people of every race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, and political affiliation all comment and share and help one another. (And the moderators enforce, as best they can, a level of civility.)

Usually you would find the same diversity on any of the ships - for many its one of the draws of DCL. I, for one, would want my money back if I found myself on a ship that was even 25% fundamentalist Christian. Because I am queer and liberal and don't care to spend my vacation listening to anyone talk about their love of their lord. (And I wager the FOTF crowd would feel the same if they found themselves on a gay days cruise).

And apparently I am not the only one who feels that way. I don't say that to belittle your religion. I say it because it's a valid sentiment based on who I am and the type of people with whom I choose to be trapped on a ship for 7 days.

For people who are preaching about diversity and tolerance, you are showing none towards those who have different beliefs than you. This thread was started by someone who was excited about their cruise and looking for others who were on that cruise, not to start an argument about should Disney even host the cruise. To have it hijacked and the OP submitted to such hate-filled responses for their beliefs is sad. I thought that the disboards was for ANYONE to join and discuss their interest in DCL, questions about cruising, etc. I would respectfully ask that the moderators close this thread.

Disney hosts Night of Joy, so without thinking too hard about it I am not surprised that there is a chartered cruise such as this. That said, this thread definitely turned quickly so I am going to close it. OP if you'd like to try again it might be best to put up a cruise meet link over on the cruise meets board. That way you most likely will only have people who are going on this cruise pop in to chat (and can report anyone who disrespects the rules of the board). That said, one of our rules IS that religious discussion is not allowed for this very reason - it is a hot button issue and tempers tend to flare. If you do wish to start another thread we'd appreciate it if you keep it to cruise discussion, and not focus on the religious aspects of this chartered cruise. :thanks:
