Our Target just opened up in October, but I have figured out that they mark the clearance on Thursdays, seems to be throughout the store. Some sections mark down every week and some things its takes a couple of weeks for them to mark on down. I've found myself planning to go on Thursdays to see what they have marked down....I know where ALL the clearance things are in the store :rolleyes1 I have gotten some great bargains. Don't know what I would do if I had to miss a Thursday of Target clearance shopping...I'm addicted. ;)

They actually mark things down all week long. Softlines are Mon-Tues. Electronics sometimes Wed. Toys and other hardlines Thurs and Fri.

Of course this schedule varies but it is done all week long.

I too am obsessed with the clearance stuff. Fortunately for me my best friend is a manager there and he calls to let me know when stuff is getting marked down. :goodvibes

Count me in too, I'm obsessed with the kids clothing and toy clearance. I got some great deals on things after the holidays. Now I can't wait until they do their big end of July toy clearance because I got great deals last year that I gave my DD for X-Mas and her B-Day. My DH was telling me yesterday that he thought that we should get my DD Nick Scene It and I told him that I already got it on clearance at Target and have it stashed in the closet. :rotfl:

I'll join your club.

I shop on Thursday's after I drop my daughter off at school. I shop the clearance endcaps first and then find other bargains in the aisles that are only 15% off so I know what I should look out for in the future.

Whats funny is I do not buy that much, it has to be something I will actually use.

Once I realized that eventually everything goes on clearance I have been obsessive about it.

Today I purchased three frames for $.50 each, 20 sheet package of tissue paper at $.19. Since I know I am taking my daughter to Mammoth this winter I found a great snow hat and matching gloves, hat was $1.48 and gloves were $2.48 and they are insulated and waterproof :thumbsup2

oh, edited to add, I live near a smallish Target, we are getting a Super Target on the other side of town this fall, I am so excited!

oh my gosh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Target clearance!! =) I wanted to get there today but didn't. =( Will try to get there tomorrow. I am having withdrawals. LOL

Man I love target clearance. Yesterday the Valentine's stuff was 90% off and I got some great deals for my dd's goody bags. I have two targets less than 5 miles from my house. Woo Hoo:cool1:

My honey got a bit miffed when she realized that we had over 12 bottles of body wash, over 7 sticks of deodorant, over 5 bottles of lotion, and we won't get into how many Fabreeze plug-in refills we have. Let's just say that I have been told "No, no Lindy, no, no!" :rolleyes1

Ever since I picked up a $200 carseat for less than $50, I have been a Target clearance stalker. Perhaps I'll need to do a little Target run tomorrow...

:lovestruc yep, yep, yep:lovestruc .Have been shopping my Targets clearance for the last 10 years. Mine clears everything dramatically on Wednesday afternoons and by Thursday, the endcaps are full of goodies! I just bought my college daughter a desk. I have told all my friends and it really is amazing the treasures we find!!

Everyone is on to the Target clearance. Six years ago when ours first opened things would sit around for days. The bargains were great.

I am mostly a "after holiday" clearance shopper, I love getting great bargains and stashing them for next year.
I have goody bags and treats for next Valentines, I didn't pick up much last Easter for this year so I will have to do better this time. I have ton's of stocking stuffers and little emergency gifts. I found a bunch of Thomas Take Along trains for a buck each a while back and bought about 10! Those will be perfect potty training treats or "just because" stuff. DD loves make-up and lotions so I stock up on those too.
And I have all my decorations and party supplies for our annual Halloween party this year too... from the goblins and costumes all the way to the napkins and plates..I found about 5 costumes last year for under $5 each. I can dress DS and he can dress up as a Ninja, Spiderman, and others to play with after that...

Sorry to be long winded...I love bargains!

You guys just taught me something new. I had NO idea about Target clearance. I will have to browse my Target stores a lot more.

Thanks for the tip!!

Lisa

Yes, I am a Target perimeter junkie. I make my way around the perimeter of the store checking all the endcaps and then I dive into the middle isles of the stores looking for BARGAINS!! I love Target and their clearance.

I really wanted to go today, but my car is covered in 1/2" of ice :sad2:

One of my 2007 New Year's Resolutions was to "stop going to Target as much"...I have saved a bunch of money by not going. I can't resist a bargan and my closets were overflowing....I'm really carefull now only to purchase items I really need!

Be careful! and wise in your spending!

Oh yes, I have gotten many wonderful things from Target very cheaply. Sometimes though, it's easy to get caught up in the moment and buy things you don't really need (thank goodness they have a great return policy).

Anyway, anyone who loves Target clearance should check out

On the Surf the Turf board there's always an ongoing Target deals thread, and let me tell you there are some talented Target shoppers over there. You'd be amazed at all the hidden deals that you can find when you know what to look for.

I don't get too much free time to visit, but I used to always visit fishingfordeals. They are wonderful there and the forums are not a drama zone like so many others.

I used to shop for Target deals a lot even the hidden deals, but I stopped recreationally shopping for some time now. My dd's best friend works there and she keeps an eye out for deals for me, but other than that I don't do much markdown shopping there. I still stockpile gifts throughout the year and buy holiday markdowns, but I have a limit now. I am much more selective now.

I call it the $100 detergent store. I used to go in wanting to buy just detergent for my clothes and then I end up buying loads of stuff. lol

I used to shop Target clearance sales too. I had to cut that out. Gave it up cold turkey. I bought way too much. Now I only go for something specific and try to stick to just that. If there's something on sale that I know we need, I'll get it. But no more filling up the cart. I was real good at that. :upsidedow

I also have cut back on my Target clearance shopping. I do still look and still check the fishing for deals website, but I don't buy everything that I think is a good deal anymore. I did get a bit crazy during the toy clearance after Christmas tho! :rolleyes1 I have about 2 huge boxes filled with games to bring out when kids are bored. Since then I have vowed to only buy what I really need (so that meant bringing back the $4.98 Spiderman blanket and sheets set and a couple other things I didn't need).

They need a support group for Target clearance shoppers trying to break the habit!!
