Anyone else not watching one minute of olympic coverage?

I'm not boycotting or anything, just not interested. Some years I am, this year I'm not. I am too old to care about those kids on snowboards and skiing has never interested me. I don't know any of the skaters so this year I'm not even watching that. In all honesty I don't watch much TV anymore, and while in the past I've made a point to at least watch the opening ceremony, I missed that too. If it weren't for the spoiler threads here (hey, just so you know someone appreciates them) I wouldn't know what was going on in Italy at all.

honestly, I couldn't care less. I'm not a sports person, and hte olympics never held my interest.

We are not watching either. Did not see opening ceremony and do not read the sopilers threads either.

We aren't really watching at all. My DS did watch a little of the hockey game this weekend but that's it. Oh and I did watch some of the women's snowboardcross just to see Lindsay Jacobellis after all the stink. But by and large we aren't watching.

I really don't care. I actually don't know anyone IRL who is watching. None of our friends are, my parents aren't, we asked a waitress the other night and she wasn't, lol.

I was surprised by the don't spoil thread because I didn't think anyone cared. I know Olympic coverage is winning most nights overall (12+) while they are being beat in the hour by hour ratings and in 18-49 by all the big shows.

Same with me. :wave2:

I couldn't possibly care less. As a matter of fact, I think they should only air it on the Sports channels and leave the regular network channels alone. I hate when my normal shows aren't on.

Nope, can't stand sports. I hate when it takes over the tv. Same way with Wimbledon. If I wanted to watch sports, I'd watch ESPN. The spoiler threads don't bother me at all either. Every now and again, I'll ask DH where we rank, but that's about it.

Not much, frustrating that there are so many events that our media does not cover. And what about athletes from other nations, their stories, etc. I find the coverage too US-focused and not "Olympic" focused.

I watched the coverage the first few days during Prime Time, but really disliked the fact that the coverage runs until 11:30 p.m. and the final races/competitions were always being shown last. Finally got too tired to watch after a few days.

Also, I'm sick and tired of the attitudes of some of the U.S. competitors. If I was a sponsor and had paid for the expenses of one of these unsportsmanlike competitors, I'd be ticked!

And what's with the other networks showing so many reruns during these two weeks? At least American Idol is on tonight.

 I'm one of them!

I was one who used to know every single figure skater and used to see them live when they'd tour.

This year I couldn't name one, besides Michelle Kwan, if my life depended on it. I've just lost interest in it, and it was the only thing that I cared about in the Winter Olympics anyway.

And don't even try to get me to watch the Summer games. Ain't gonna be happening.

I'm not interested either. Is that bad? What does it say about me that I get upset if I miss Survivor or Amazing Race but don't want to watch a minute of the Olympics? :confused3 I'm just not a sports fan. Any sport.

I figure that the athletes sacrifice so much of their youth training tirelessly to represent their country in the Olympics, the least I can do is spend a few minutes to appreciate their accomplishments.

Only figure skating in the Winter Olympics. Oh, and I watched the women's snowboarding as well (because I am so going snowboarding one day!!). And even then it's only if I happen to catch it when I'm at home (I don't go out of my way to see it - and besides, I can watch the highlights on the BBC's website!).

I love the Summer Olympics.. I am a runner though. In fact, it was seeing Paula in Athens that prompted me to start running (I know, it doesn't make sense - really it should have been Kelly Holmes' victories rather than Paula Radcliffe's DNF, but there you go!).

No other sports though

I follow the live results and catch event replays when I can. No way I would watch the lame NBC coverage. I'll choose what I think it notable thank you.

I also can't take any of the events where judges decide the outcome too seriously. Not since watching a particular boxing match in Korea. :worried:

I love the figure skating but haven't been watching for 2 reasons:

(1) I've been doing other stuff..

and

(2) For a couple of months now, every time I try to watch tv I fall asleep in less than 10 minutes - something I have NEVER done in my entire life.. Guess I'm getting old - LOL.. :teeth:

I am a big sports fan, but the winter Olympics is just excrutiatingly boring to me. Not one sport that I care about.
