Anyone else never use the resort pool?

We're swimmers in my family! We spend a good portion of our vacation at the pool! Stay at the pool in the mornings, go to the parks in the afternoon/evening. But....if there is a quiet pool available, we do use those instead of the main pools...much less crowded.

I'm actually a little bummed that swimming might not be an option on this Dec trip. It's our first time going this late in the year.

You might be surprised. I've been in December a couple of times and some days it is warm enough for me to feel like a swim and other days it's too chilly for me to be interested. But the pools are all heated, so once you're in you're fine...it's just getting out that can be the problem if it's chilly. I know I'll pack a suit for this December trip.

But to the OP's question - sometimes I get in then get kind of creeped out, especially if there are a lot of very young children in the pool and the water is very warm, if you know what I mean...

Ive never used the pool at any resort. I figure, we can swim at home anytime, why waste time out of my vacation for swimming. With that, obviously the pool has no bearing in our resort decision.

I stayed in Pop Century for 8 nights/9 days and never stepped foot into one of the pools. In fact, we were at the hotel for a break in the middle of the day twice, and we just stayed inside or walked around. Anyone else not go into the pool at all or is it just me?

My DS doesn't love swimming and neither does DH. We actually stayed at the Yacht Club and he was so "whatever" about Stormalong Bay that I was bummed...lol. My brother and I always swim and use the hot tub if the resort has one. I find just floating around in the pool relaxes my legs after all the walking. I will admit that I've never swum before 10 p.m. though because I too feel like I want to be at the parks if they are open.

In 40 plus trips staying at WDW since 1992, DW and I have never been in a resort pool. Grandson has, but not us.

I love the pools and hot tubs!!!! Unfortunately on my recent trip Nov1-Nov8 it was too cold and I was freezing out by the pool!!! Also, to all of you with small children - Please do not let your child try to "swim" in the hot tub and dive into it. There is a really big pool where they can do this, but unfortunately as I tried to relax in the hot tub I was surrounded by splashing kids trying to swim and dive in a hot tub that only seats 9 people while their igorant parents sat and watched. I even got a few kicks in the tub by swimming kids.

I've stayed at the Beach Club 8 or 9 times, and I have never set foot in Stormalong Bay. I'm too afraid that the sight of me in a bathing suit will ruin the trip of every small child in sight. :guilty:

;) Okay now...where is that Boston attitude we are so famous for? I always say "if you don't like it? don't look!" I'm swimming, it's my vacation too. The pool is for all of us :grouphug:
