Anyone else miss the "Reservation for rent" threads?

I understand the 30 day rule, and really could care less one way or the other, but if it is helping fellow members I am all for it. But I kind of liked looking at reservations for rent in upcoming months, and then checking airfare etc to see if it could be worked out, like say....the end of August or something. Would think after 4 trips this year, and nailing down our main visits at 11 months-the dreaming would stop  . Maybe we will get online availability snap shots one day and can start planning those "tweener" trips. :thumbsup2

I used to do the same thing:rotfl2: I don't know if it actually help us members or if people just go to another site and post them for rent. I don't see them stopping there rent business just because the dis won't let them post.

So...

The "Reservations for Rent" are no longer posted on this forum???

I have been unsuccessful in finding a rental, because my dates are within the 60 day window and CRO took control of everything. I was really hoping to find a Reservation for Rent on this forum.

Is there another site which lists Reservations for Rent?

The Rent/Trade still allows it, just within 30 days only. You can create a "Reservation Wanted" for anytime you want I believe, so you can go that route. Before that rule there used to be a lot of postings for reservations for the upcoming months folks no longer wanted for what ever reason. Those were kind of fun to look at and consider/compare for possible trips, depending on airfare, points shortages in our account (as usual), locations, room sizes. Basically planning possible WDW vacations in any form is a good time to some of us-and it was just one more outlet to feed the addiction. Good luck.

While many of the "Reservations for Rent" threads for future dates were by members who couldn't use their own reservation, we found that the majority appeared to be 'speculation' rentals by people renting for profit. They often booked the most popular times (Think Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, and so on) and offered them for rent.

On the first day new AKV owners were allowed to start making reservations at AKV, we found on the very next day users were posting existing reservations for rent at AKV for prime Christmas dates.

After considerable discussion, the decision was made to limit posting of future reservations to no more than 30 days ahead. This corresponds to the time when a cancelled reservation results in holding points.
