Anyone else "LOVE" Disneyworld, but just "like" Disney?

Funny that I saw this; I LOVE Disney World and hitting the parks, but i'm so-so about Disney otherwise. I enjoy a few the classics, but otherwise- it's just there. I dont care for modern Disney television at all. I think the only disney souvenirs/items that I own from the past eh 6 years or so is a monoral quote t-shirt and maybe a few cards from sorcerers of the magic kingdom. LOL Well, excuse me while I go plan my next vacation down. :joker:

That's my family, too. Loooooooooooooooooove WDW. Disney "stuff" - eh. We watch movies when getting ready for a trip, but beyond that...no interest in it all..

Yep. Pretty much. I do like the movies, but I'm not upset about not seeing some of them. I've had Disney Jr on a lot recently to solidify who Mickey is for my 3 yr old, but after a bit, I can't wait to get it off! We have some WDW keepsakes, but they are WDW, not Disney movie stuff. We would much rather talk about our past and future trips!!! It's the experience and magic that I love! :)

I'm happy (and, I must admit, surprised) to see that so many share this sentiment; my wife and I thought we were the only ones.

We did not grow up in Disney-centric households, miss as many Disney films as we see, surf right past the Disney Channel, and are woefully ignorant of many things Disney.

But there's no place on earth I'd rather be than Walt Disney World, and my wife enjoys it enough to happily enable my addiction (and sometimes even share it).

It somehow makes me feel better to know I'm not alone, that it's not altogether weird to be a huge fan of Walt Disney World without being anything more than an occasional fan of Disney Studios entertainment.

(It occurs to me that this might be why my favorites WDW attractions have always been the ones that weren't based on Disney films--Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Spaceship Earth, Carousel of Progress...and the late, lamented Horizons and World of Motion.)

That's us, too. While we like Disney in general, we LOVE Disneyworld (we probably need an intervention, it's that bad). Most of the stuff I buy there is stuff that has the parks on it more than characters, or stuff with Mickey heads. A day doesn't go by in this house where we don't talk about our past trips or upcoming trip plans.

This is us EXACTLY!!!!

Since this discussion isn't about theme parks attractions and strategies, I've moved it to the Theme Parks Community board. :)

I cannot say I feel that way. I love all things Disney! My husband is the opposite of your question. He does not like going to WDW, but he really likes all of the movies and watched them often.

This is me. Disney is nice, but I don't spend too much time with it. I did not love the princesses as a little girl. I enjoy Disney movies, but unless it's Toy Story (Which holds a special place in my heart, but still I only watch about once a year and only a own two merch items.), I will hardly watch them. I really love Marvel movies, which I guess is Disney, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe is more like it's own world owned by Disney.

The theme parks on the other hand... totally obbessed. I spend so much time on the DisBoards, reading park weekly update articles, and Youtube getting my Disney fix. I used to carry around a Disney guide book and used it so much my teacher took it away as a punishment for reading it instead of my sheet music, haha.

Yes.

Although I have been only a few times, I am obsessed with planning a trip.
And honestly, I have no idea when we will be able to go again.
My family just rolls their eyes (except for dd#2).

Yeah, I used to enjoy (as a parent) some of the shows the Disney Channel produced when my kids were younger, but they've seemingly taken a decidedly banal turn in the last couple of years.
