I am a major Bunco fan! I would love to hear if you like to play, and what variations of the game are out there.

Usually, we play with couples - family and/or friends. Everyone brings something to eat, and we eat as we go along. We play rounds of 1 through 6, and then from 6 to 1, take a break, and then go from 1 to 6 and 6 to 1 again. We are always very LOUD!! I think it is a great way for a bunch of people to get to know each other because they are constantly switching tables and partners.

I remember playing this once in youth group and having a blast. I can't wait to hear what people say because I was thinking it would be fun to have a bunco party.

I play with a group of friends once a month. There are 12 of us, so we each host once a year.

We start out with appetizers and wine, then move on to dinner and more wine. BTW, we also have wine while we're playing bunco.

We do three "sets" of 1s, 2s, 4s, 5s, and 6s. (We don't do 3s because we consider them to be "wipe outs")

We have prizes for the most wins, the most losses, most buncos, and most wipe outs. Oh yeah, we also have a GREAT time.

:p

I subbed in a friend's monthly Bunco group a few weeks ago. It is a group of women from her neighborhood. Whoever has the most Buncos during the evening wins the Bunco Butt for the month. It is one of those wooden cut outs of a large woman's backside, and it has "Bunco" written across her rear end. The "winner" has to display the Butt in her front yard until they play the next month! When my friend first moved into the neighborhood a few years ago, she had never heard of Bunco, so she thought her neighbor with the Bunco Butt was named Mrs. Bunco - LOL!

I'm a regular sub in a group some of my friends are part of and I love it....we play 3 rounds of 1's to 6's. We bring apps or desserts and the hostess usually has wine and other drinks. Each person puts $5 or $10 in the pot and we do

Most buncos, Most Wins, Most Losses, and Even stevens....

I really want to start my own group......

We play bunco at the Deaf Club in Broward. Never played it with hearing people. Actually thought it was a Deaf thing. Haven't gone in a while. Maybe I'll go again next month.

It's a dice game. Each table has 4 people and 2 are a team. The first game you roll for 1's..each time you recieve a 1 you count it until you get to 21 or higher...in our games when the head table get to 21 the game ends..Now if you are the pair that got to 21 first or closets to 21 you move to the next table and when you get there you separate and get a different partner...this continues every game until sixes are finished. You mark down every win or loss you recieve in each game. If you roll the dice(3) and all 3 dice has the number you are rolling for say 3 1's that is a bunco. and you recieve 21 points automatically..
There are a few more details...but that's the basics for how my group plays..

Any how it is a blast...and our groups tend to get loud and have a great time...

I think that's about the ONLY "rule" that's consistent in all bunco groups, LOL!!

Disneyaholic - the loud "rule" was not consistent in one group I subbed in. These ladies were so boring - no shouting out or anything! They didn't even get excited when they got a bunco! Needless to say, I will NOT be subbing for that group again. I need to yell and scream and lose my voice when I play!

zurgswife - what area of PA are you from? I don't recognize the name of your town. I am from the Pittsburgh area. If you are close, we should do a BuncoCon meet!

Thelk4....I'm outside the Philly area....

Yelling and screaming and laughing are the best parts....:D :D :D

Played this once years ago with a group that a friend’s co-worker belonged to – I think it was a sorority. It was held at a large party house and there were lots of people – 20-30 tables set up. We had a buffet dinner first, then played bunco, and then had dessert. There were all different kinds of people there. It was a blast!

OMG! 20 or 30 tables??? I would think I'd died and gone to Bunco heaven! It is my ultimate goal to rent out our church hall and have a massive party with all of the people we have played with over the years.

I'm in a Bunco group. There are 12 of us and we play once a month. Each month a different person hosts it at her house. The person hosting supplies the food, drink and door prize. We have prizes for the "traveling dice", most wins, most losses, most buncos, most baby buncos and the rest put their papers in a basket for a drawing for the door prize. We also get loud and have a great time! We've been playing now for a little over 2 years. Our bunco day is this Tues. Can't wait!

Love Bunko! We have a group of 12 ladies who play once a month too. We go from 1-6 in three sets. We have prizes for the most bunko's, most wins, most loses, a lottery draw and travelling bunko. We each bring a dish to share, we eat, play, eat and play. Lots of fun!!

My group of high school girlfriends played Bunko for years. (we spell it with a K). We had it once a month, with everyone taking turns hosting (host provides the food, drink and prizes). There were 15 in the group, but we rarely had more than 12 that could come on any given month. We rarely used subs, we'd use a "ghost" instead.

We also play with snake eyes (rolling 3 2's). If you roll a snake eyes, your team loses all its' points and has to start over on the quest for 21. It makes each round last a little longer.

We had prizes for most wins, most bunkos, and most snake eyes.

Haven't played in a while. We keep talking about reviving it, it was a lot of fun!

roliepolieoliefan: What part of Pittsburgh are you from? Maybe if you are close to me, we could get a bunco DISmeet planned one day!!

bsnyder - LOVE the snake eyes idea! I've never heard of that one before.
