Hi,

I wish I could do something like South Beach, but the majority of it is cheese, cheese, cheese. I've tried the lactose pills, they only work some of the time. I do drink lactose free fat free milk but I'd like a lifestyle plan that includes not a lot of dairy. Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I was given this formula from someone who said her personal trainer was a weight lifting coach/champion. Most healthy eating styles have something close to this basic formula as I have observed.

He recommended an 1800 calorie nutritional intake for her day.
--700 protein
--700 carbs
--400 fats

Fats - olive oil, flaxseed, almond butter

Proteins - fish, chicken, turkey, egg white, cottage cheese

Carbs - oatmeal, Exekiel bread, sweet potato, brown rice, apples, pears, berries, grapefruit, corn and peas

Include at least 6-8 servings of veggies (non-starchy)

Have 6 meals a day and each must include a protein and carb

Keep moving and you should do well with something like this.

My friend simply melted and while she was following this very strictly she told me that as time would permit that some things could be/would be added. I just never got the next additions.

Her example to me of a breakfast was
1 c oatmeal mixed with 4 egg whites, splenda, cinnamon, a little water to moisten microwave abougt 1:20

You don't have to eat the cheese!

My side note: Take your calcium tablets and maybe daily vitamins

Lactose here!! However Im really not on a diet. But I do love those lean cuisine tv dinners. My fav - Grilled Chicken & Penne Pasta with the apple desert and the roasted turkey dinner - yummy to both!!! You could try them. They dont have any cheese. And a lot of their other stuff doesnt have cheese in it either. What kind of lactose pills are you taking? I just take the walmart brand and take 1 pill each time I eat dairy (although the bottle says to take 3) and Im fine. I do get to a point if I eat to much dairy in like 2 months in a row then I start feeling nasuated. So when I get to that point, I dont eat anything dairy wise for a week and then Im good to go again! I can eat cheese. I can eat ice cream. Although the only ice cream that agrees with me is cold stone and like the ice cream bars and sandwiches from the grocery store. Bryers and all other brands where you scoop out ice cream...yeah, everytime I eat it I feel nausated after words.

I have tried every lactose pill on the market. I just stare at people who can eat ice cream. My sisters and I are all lactose intolerant, so I guess it runs in the family.

Thanks TigerLily03, I'm going to print that recipe for life and see if I can adhere to it. I definitely take calcium supplements as I'm on thyroid meds for life and they increase my chance of osteoporosis!

i am lactose intolerant as well. i have to take 3 lactaid pills (27000 mg's or whatever dosage they come in) every time i eat ice cream or anything creamy.
