:teeth: I know, I had to slap myself and stare in the mirror...but honestly...from a few things I have read lately I think it is best that my family is not there this summer, the package incentives are really good, but after having been there this past Christmas (12/18-28) I am a little crowd-phobic. There are so many new changes that I personally need a year to see how all this stuff unfolds...tickets, AP changes, fewer codes, poss FP changes...I just started to get this WDW thing under control, storing some really useful knowledge, and BAM! I feel like I need to take the WDW refresher course! Anyway,,,anyone else temporarily scared off from the world? Keep in mind we are in IL and can shoot for a WDW trip every 18-24 months, so I like to be pretty comfortable about going/planning.

for the fact of the heat, not enough money saved up yet, my daughter gets "overheated" i guess you can say very easily. she doesn't do very well with high temps, and that i will be saving around $700.00 with switching our plans to Sept. and it is cooler and less crowded then also. It does "hurt" to hear that people are there right now, which we were supposed to be also, but I know it will be will worth it in the long run when Sept. comes along. We are counting down the days, and are down to 96 right now. We went in Sept. 03 last time, so we are definently ready for this trip.

We are going in july (a few weeks from now) and i am VERY nervous about it.
From what i've heard of the crowds, it seems as if it's much worse than years past.

But we have no choice. It's either now or never...so......

How was it last year in December? We left the 22nd last year. How were the crowds the 23rd and 24th? We are thinking about the 17th to ? this year. We will be cancelling our August reservations if SW releases good fares for Dec. I just can't stand the thought of going in August due to the heat and the crowd reports I keep hearing about. Scares me.

I have to warn you, September isn't all that cool. Our hottest trip was in September (end of Sept. into Oct.) - hotter than an August trip we took a couple years later....Be prepared for heat & humidity just like you would if you went in July or August.

We put off our wedding until the end of Sept. due to the heat! Last summer was soooo hot! We had a great time at WDW, just wish it wasn't as crowded and hot. We thought the weather would be cooler and the crowds less, but it looks like with the free dining the crowds will be up. oh, well!

I was going to say the same thing Leota! :)

I'd also like to add though, that I can deal with heat, or I can deal with crowds. I can't deal with both.

But there are NOT a lot of crowds in September, so dealing with the heat is MUCH easier!!! For me anyway.

I am going this summer and I'm relieved that I AM. :rotfl:

We hate summer in Disney World.

We used to go every summer & every year we would say "Summers are to hot & crowded, never again!"

I am not afraid of the heat. After all I live in TX. But I hate walking around all day & getting so hot & sticky with so many people around me.

So we started going in April & are so happy we made the switch! It is much cooler, crowds are much better & we enjoy it more.

This year we are doing Nov in Disney World to! Never been there in Nov. & I cant wait. :goodvibes

November is a great choice. My favorite trips were Thanksgiving and Easter trips. I would do them again in a heartbeat. We still swam in the heated pools at the villa we rented. The Christmas lights were amazing. The crowds were there but we avoided them pretty well using a plan. Also, there were longer hours, just no heat. It also was not really that cold, just coolish and no humidity whatsoever (this was 2002).

We were in WDW at the end of April and beginning of May, before we left we heard of how the parks were so so high in attendance. It also happened to be the time of the kick off for Disneyland's birthday, but in all honesty, it was not nearly as bad as we had thought. WE made sure that we planned not to do MK on a monday etc. to stay away from the big crowds, and a few of the parks closed at 3:00 for the press events etc. which we thought would make it worse. It didn't!!!! Pace yourself, use your fast passes and have a great time!!!!

Can't agree with you, I wish I WERE going this summer. Not July, perhaps, but I'd love a good dog days of late August trip, hey if it is too hot we'd swim. I'm totally into all these new options Disney has out.. tickets, ME, great meal plan... I think they actually have gone to work to see if there are some different ways to make an onsite Disney vacation more flexible and affordable.

We'll be there in February but we're going with a group and will be offsite in a vacation home... so it will be a very very different vacation than we are used to at WDW.

Wish I were there right now in fact! :earsgirl:

I totally agree with that! Last year it was in the mid 90s and very hot at the end of September beginning of October.

The hottest trip we EVER took to WDW was in September! DH and I thought we were being so smart going in September, since all the kids are back in school and crowds are less. It was like being on the surface of the freakin' :sunny: it was so hot! A billion degrees every day and humidity to match. No thank you! Now we stick to November/December.

We have been to Disney 3x at the end of September/first of October (this year will make our 4th trip: 09/30-10/08). While it wasn't what I consider cool, I didn't find it that bad. Surely it's not as bad as it is in July/August?!?

I'll be there on Sunday and I can't wait! It will rain, and even though that worries me a little bit, I don't care. As long as I am in WDW, I am happy. :)

I'm ready to go to WDW actually. I realize that there are a lot of crowds but that's not a big deal. It's WDW and that means there will be rides but if you take it right and remember that even if you had a month at Disney, you still wouldn't be able to do everything the entire world had to offer, you will realize that its not THAT bad.

I'm more excited than ever to go. Newer changes mean that there are things I haven't seen and would like to explore. Just look at it like that. :)

I'm always relieved not to be going in the summer. Been there, done that and won't do it again. We now only go after mid-September and before April. The summer heat, crowds and rain...ugh! :sad2:
