Anyone else home sick today?

This is the first time this year that this kindergarten teacher is home sick and I mean SICK. The kicker is for the first time in 31 years of teaching, my classroom assistant is out today, too, with the same stomach thing that I got.

I am betting it's the Norwalk virus that has been going around here. It's just nasty!

I can't rest knowing my students have 2 subs in the classroom today.

Please send pixie dust that they will do ok and that I will be better by tomorrow.

DD was up all night getting "sick" if you know what I mean.

Oh, I'm sorry you are feeling yucky- having stomach issues is just the worst!! I am fine (had a cold last week, but all better now), but DD8 is home today. She woke up yesterday morning with crusted-over, disgusting eyes- she has a nasty case of pinkeye! So school was a no-no for yesterday and today (they can't go back until they have been taking meds for at least 24 hours).

My youngest got sick on Mon. I felt like a horrible parent when she got off the bus, Mon. Dad had gotten them ready in the morning (I was already at work), and she was just a little stuffy, but by the time she got home, looked, and felt awful.

My yesterday morning, both girls felt bad, so DH stayed home, and took them to the Dr. to rule out strep, which they both get often. I made arranagements to have someone work for me today, so I could stay home w/ them. However, neither has strep, and both felt OK for school. No temp, a small cough, not too much of a stuffy/runny nose, and no belly stuff.

We really dodged a bullet. Hope they do not get worse again.

But here I am, A day off work, w/ no one home. Think I'll watch a movie

I'm home today. Nasty cough, double earaches, feeling like I could sleep all day. This is not fun.

I'm using a sick day today not that I'm sick, but to check in on DS8 at school. He's been cutting up lately so I decided to pay a surprise visit. I'll be in and out all day.

I've been home sick for a few days. I have a horrible sore throat went to the doctor ruled out strep. Don't you just love it when they tell you it's just a infection let it run it's course and it will take about 10 days. Yikes! I also have a horrible cough and ear ache. Blah! I can't imagine having this for 10 days. Feel better!

I too have a child home with horrible pinkeye. Ick!
I hope everyone feels better soon. However, I don't mind having a day at home and no afterschool activities either.

try and get some rest...I was just a sub for a kindergarten class and her assist was out too. The kids had a great time with two subs on one day. They got to lead us in several things that we missed and they felt important. They actually enjoyed being a little bit in charge. So, get the well needed rest and I bet you get a great report from your subs on how well they kids did.

Count me in. Ive been sick since last Thursday and cant seem to shake this flu or whatever it is.
