Anyone Else having to "Sneak" onto these boards?

DH makes comments once in a while about me being on the DIS again, but can not talk because he is on FACEBOOK constantly!!!!

My DH thinks I am crazy. I have tried hiding it....but I think he knows anyway! I think he has learned to accept it :thumbsup2

Hubby doesn't mind at all but my 18 year old tells me daily "mom you have a serious problem" :rotfl2:

I tell him this is my Disneyspace !!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I've definitely been on too much lately - I completely forgot I put in a load of laundry at 9:00 this morning!

For me it goes in spurts - I'm on (well really on and off throughout the day) the most when I'm planning a trip, or just back from one and don't want to let it go.

I only feel sneaky when when I'm waaaaay behind in housework. (The best of course, is when a cat jumps up in my lap and then I "have" to stay at the computer.)

count me in too! I don't sneak- but my DH is always saying "are you on the computer again" and what he means by that is "are you on those dis boards again!" I have a PTR and he has called me at work and said "oh so you updated your trip report huh?" He is a CLOSET LURKER!! - he is too cool to sign up and post but I have found him lurking himself quite a few times!

My wife says I'm addicted to the DIS. She's right! I remind her that my "addiction" has helped us have many wonderful & memorable Disney trips. :thumbsup2

If I could live at Disney World.....I would! I'm on DISboards everyday just to get a Disney fix. Sadly, we won't be taking a trip down this year which is crushing me and my two girls. Next year for sure though!

Thanks for the honesty about being addicted. I don't think of it that way. I just call it "prep work" to make our next trip fun. DH doesn't have to look at the screen anymore, he just asks how are things on the DIS. We aren't planning our usual summer trip but we're going in December so I like planning ahead. A lot. A few times a day. :thumbsup2

Oh this is funny! My name is Kristin. I am addicted to DIS boards. I sneak in a few minutes all day long (I'm a SAHM). My dd4 doesn't know we're going, so I have to scroll REALLY FAST past any pictures (thank goodness she can't read! but she DOES know the Disney logo). There are boards here I can't go to when she's around (Creative DISigns, esp.) I shut down the computer about 15 minutes before my dh comes home from work. He knows I research stuff, but I try to keep my chatter to 1 or 2 tidbits each day - makes it sound like I spent 30 min. on the computer, not 3 hours!

In the meantime, I let laundry pile up for 2 weeks, the dishes are never done, I haven't dusted in a month. To be fair, I have maintained my dd's playdate and activities schedule and I do still find time to play with her. But I think I would make a better travel agent than housekeeper . . .

I only hope I can kick this habit once we're back from our April trip!

That is exactly my story! But sorry to say our trip was in Jan. and I'm still here! I am addicted :scared1:

What boards???? I'm on the computer doing RESEARCH....very important work, thank you. :rotfl2:

I AM the DH and I'm the one with the obsession. So it goes both ways! My wife comes on and lurks and asks me if I am talking to my "Disney Chicks" again.
She is a Disney fanatic also but she doesn't like to get online and post things much. She is however registered here. I think she's just checking up on me.:lmao:

I recently discovered these boards, and can honestly say I check them at least once a day reading up on old posts, etc. We've only been to WDW as a family 2 other times (I've been 4 other times on business, but that's not really fun so does not count) the 2 prior times, I came home frustrated because I was just not prepared. I also had the unrealistice epectation that I could see all while there, and only really feel better now seeing that even Disney pro's like most the DISers' don't see it all in a trip! I am excited and overwhelmed by the possibilities of Disney :cloud9:

We are going for 8 days end of April 09 and DH is looking forward to the trip and has helped with a ton of the planning. Anyway, recently, he's made the comment to me & others around us that I'm obessed with this website (yea, I am, so what?) I've actually caught myself slamming the laptop closed when he comes home like I have to "Hide" that I was on the website, or using all of my lunch hour at work, or any other free time (Like now) to lurke, read, post :rolleyes1

Do I need counseling?

I can join the club. We are going end of April too. We have three boys 9,7, and 5. I'm quite obsessed. I noticed you stayed off-site before. Did you regret it? We're trying it this time to save money. I'm a little nervous about it. We'll be there 4/24-5/1. What about you??

No I don't regret it. Was in the same boat as you -- trying to save money and it was either that or don't go! so we stayed offsite. it was nice to get away from mickey at night, but I did miss the disney magic. Biggest headache was paying to park and commuting, but we were only about 10 minutes away so it was fine. Neither of my kids were the type that needed to return to the hotel to rest/nap.. they just crashed in the stroller so we didn't have the burdon of trying to go back to our hotel for breaks. If my youngest ds needed the hotel break, it would have been a lot more inconvenient. Best perk is you really can eat anywhere cheaper the disney (and in a lot of cases BETTER) and staying offsite does open that up for you. and the rooms were a lot bigger (for $69.00 we stayed in a suite at the Holiday Inn w/ 2 queen beds and a queen pull out couch compared to $99 for 2 doubles @ Pop -- back in 2007) Our last trip was a BIG family trip.. all of my side of the family and mos to DH"s went at the same time and some mutual friends.. there was a total of 41 of us either related or friends .. it was great, but I'm looking forward to this trip just being the 4 of us. Not to mention how much more educated I am about vacationing in wdw then we ever were before! We will be at Pop from 4/26 - 5/4 and also have 2 boys almost 9 (5/12) and just 6 (2/9) kinda bummed we couldn't do the free birthday, but that's ok.

I can think of over 100 awesome reasons for staying onsite and just as many for staying offsite. Vacationing in WDW is like anything else.. You'll have as much fun as you want or you'll be as miserable as you want... you pick your frame of mind and baring national catastrophies, it'll pretty much play out to what you expect. Focus on the perks of staying offsite and don't let that 1 little detail drag down your trip. I "wanted" to stay at the poly but just couldn't so I had to make myself not be disappointed by being "Stuck" in a value. Its all a frame of mind.

Keep your fingers crossed the weather will be perfect and the crowds will be low!!!! See ya There! :flower3:

You're right! It's all about your frame of mind. Gosh, I should just be jumping for joy that we're even getting to GO period!! with this economy!

It will be great, I'm sure!!!

Thanks!:flower3:

When my DH commented the other day on me being on the DIS "all of the time" I told him I don't do You Tube, I don't do eBay (well if you don't count looking at Disney boutique stuff...shhhh!):rolleyes1 , I don't do cars, and I don't :happytv: , I do however DIS:thumbsup2

My DH teases me too! He tells everyone that I am the disney expert! Not true, that is why I check the boards everyday. Thanks to everyone for their tips & suggestions:thumbsup2

I "sneak" in when i can, as DH does not understand why i need to be back, when our trip is over, and not planning another one... Oh how little does he understand:goodvibes :surfweb:

No sneaking here....my DH thinks I'm nuts though!! :rolleyes1
Second that one! After DS2 settles for the evening or now while he is playing with his friends I can't help but get a peek in when I can.(while they are distracted). I'm ADDICTED!! DH will ask "what are you doing, oh never mind stupid question", he recently asked if this would end after our trip.

HAHA, Mine asked the same but that was over 1 yr ago.. But i am planning another short trip, but unfortunately, finances make it impossible this year, so probably not til 2010.. But i need to plan out 1 yr advance right?:thumbsup2
