Anyone Else having to "Sneak" onto these boards?

I recently discovered these boards, and can honestly say I check them at least once a day reading up on old posts, etc. We've only been to WDW as a family 2 other times (I've been 4 other times on business, but that's not really fun so does not count) the 2 prior times, I came home frustrated because I was just not prepared. I also had the unrealistice epectation that I could see all while there, and only really feel better now seeing that even Disney pro's like most the DISers' don't see it all in a trip! I am excited and overwhelmed by the possibilities of Disney :cloud9:

We are going for 8 days end of April 09 and DH is looking forward to the trip and has helped with a ton of the planning. Anyway, recently, he's made the comment to me & others around us that I'm obessed with this website (yea, I am, so what?) I've actually caught myself slamming the laptop closed when he comes home like I have to "Hide" that I was on the website, or using all of my lunch hour at work, or any other free time (Like now) to lurke, read, post :rolleyes1

Do I need counseling?

Funny, I'm the same way. My DH thinks I'm nuts. I found the dis while he was deployed, and needless to say by the time he got back, I was on it all the time. In the begining I would try to do it when he wasn't around, but then I had a heart to heart with him and basically told him that this is what I do (he's not a planner by ANY means:headache: -drives me nuts) but anyways I still feel kinda bad like I'm doing something wrong when he's around- I think I need the counseling too:laughing:

Ok. Make it three. My DH calls the dis my "crack habbit"! :lmao: Everytime I sit down to the computer he asks me if I am getting my fix for the day! :rotfl2: What can I say? I LOVE DISNEY and since I can't be there every day I have to check in with the dis and see what's happening. I only wish I had a trip to plan. :sad1:

No sneaking here....my DH thinks I'm nuts though!! :rolleyes1

I don't have to sneak around DH he knows about my "habit" and has accepted it. I do however sneak :tiptoe: at work where I'm not supposed to be on the internet :ssst:
I have a problem

Me too. Whenever I am on the computer now, my DH just assumes that I am on the disboards. He tells everyone that I have this trip so planned that I have his bathroom breaks planned out.

We are not even planning a trip right now (hoping for next Feb.) And I still am on here all the time. We had a trip to wdw in Jan. and I just want to hold on to it just a little longer. My DH thinks I am crazy. I used to hide but he knew what I was doing. He said I was having an affair with the dis.:lmao: Now he just says with a sigh... "whats happening on your disney site." Hah, I'm wearing him down.:rotfl:

LOL! That's my DH... I think I'm wearing him down. Earlier, I noticed him looking popcorn:: over my shoulder... he told me to open particular threads to read them. For a min there I thought he was going to make me move over so he could help me "answer" them. I'm afraid I'm going to have withdraws after our trip!

I work at night some times and get really bored, so I get my Disney fix. It is a great way for me to get pumped about our trip in Sept.

My DH joked about my addiction...and I was mostly just a lurker, too! Say it loud, and say it proud. Disboard addiction is FINE! If your DH gives you a hard time, you can point out that it is much more harmless than compulsive spending or, say, crack.

And he will THANK you when you have an awesome trip next month and you know all of those little great details that make for a great Disney vacation.

I was just going to post something somewhat related about my dis "secret"...

My DH has no idea that I'm on the Dis. He knows I go on the computer during the day or in the evening and that I'm "obsessed" with the Disney info. (He teased me before our last trip, but then thanked me because all he had to do was get into the car. Every time he said, "Oh, it would have been good to bring x", I amazing him by just pulling it out. This time he has not said a word about me packing 3-4 months in advance.)

Anyway, the other night we mentioned getting a drink or two in Epcot one evening (MIL is joining us for a few days of our trip and offered for us to have a "date"), so he typed something into google that brought him to the disboards. I think it was a thread of recipes. Then he started clicking around and called me over to tell me about these people that were really crazy with the Disney obsession and have boards for talking about all the details. :rotfl: I just glanced at the page, and casually said, "oh yeah. I've seen that website before. I got some info for our trips from there" and walked away. Didn't want him to get too interested and find me on here. ;)

Me too! I not only hear it from DH, but also my two sons(11 and 14). Whenever any of them see me on here, they comment about my addiction and how I need to find a hobby. They even tell other people about my addiction, so now I have to sneak it which seems rediculous to me as I am an adult and I am hiding Disboards from my kids!

My DH is an IT guy so there are computers all over the house and everyone here has their own "addiction".

DH's lives for EBAY and sports, DD18 and DD16 just looks up Jonas Brothers Stuff. I am either on my Horse Message Board or this one! :thumbsup2

yes this is my little secret ;) DH has no idea... he just knows i go on the disney vacations very well prepared!! :thumbsup2 thanks DIS and DISSERS!!:worship:

and yes i am on here all the time... with no trip planned :goodvibes

Thanks! I just glad to know I'm not the only one with this problem! After a few weeks of lurking & posting, I don't know how we managed the times we went to Disney before without a plan. I don't mean a down to the minute plan (thats just not for me or my family, but a general, there is where we are going, where we should eat (or have ADR) and these are the specific things I don't want to miss...)I am so excited to enjoy this trip & be able to just (while at the parks) throw out random facts or rumors about things, know things to look for, etc. Thanks everyone.. keep sharing the wisdoms!:cheer2:

I don't have to "sneak" to get on the board, but I do take the occasional ribbing from DW when she "catches" me. But she has gotten to the point where she just calmly asks, "so what's going on today on the boards?" :rotfl: She also says I'm addicted to this place. If she only knew how much........... :groom:

Oh this is funny! My name is Kristin. I am addicted to DIS boards. I sneak in a few minutes all day long (I'm a SAHM). My dd4 doesn't know we're going, so I have to scroll REALLY FAST past any pictures (thank goodness she can't read! but she DOES know the Disney logo). There are boards here I can't go to when she's around (Creative DISigns, esp.) I shut down the computer about 15 minutes before my dh comes home from work. He knows I research stuff, but I try to keep my chatter to 1 or 2 tidbits each day - makes it sound like I spent 30 min. on the computer, not 3 hours!

In the meantime, I let laundry pile up for 2 weeks, the dishes are never done, I haven't dusted in a month. To be fair, I have maintained my dd's playdate and activities schedule and I do still find time to play with her. But I think I would make a better travel agent than housekeeper . . .

I only hope I can kick this habit once we're back from our April trip!
