We booked our placeholder onboard the British Isles Cruise a few weeks ago on the last full day of the cruise. After returning home I waited for a reservation number and my credit card to be charged, but neither happened. So I contacted our travel agent, who is on maternity leave. I didn't want to cause any trouble and didn't think it was time sensitive, so I waited for her to return.
After reading about the onboard credit being taken away from placeholder bookings by now, I realized, that it indeed IS time sensitive, so I contacted the colleague of our travel agent, to have her check with DCL.
Now Disney told her that they can not find our booking and "many guests on this specific sailing have problems with their onboard bookings and only some are offered to rebook their placeholder now", but there is absolutely nothing they could do to reflect the status of the placeholder being booked onboard, so we will not get the onboard credit.
So, if anybody else on this sailing has problems with the onboard booking of a placeholder and has been turned away by DCL - give it another try, Disney seems to have realized, that something went wrong and at least you could have it rebooked, to receive the discount.
