Contacted travel agent and royal. Royal said they couldn’t tell me anything, travel agent couldn’t find anything out. Finally got cruise planner purchase refunded but was over the 45 day mark promised and sick of spending hours on the phone so I contacted credit card company. I’ll never use royal again. They refused to tell me anything because I was booked under a group rate. Travel agent said that wasn’t true at all and despite calls to them never received reply back. It was almost 6000k they held for months.... frustrating.

anyone else in my position? Canceled cruise in March cruise date was supposed to be may 28. Immediately requested refund after cancellation was announced. Others on my cruise per message boards were refunded in 2-3 weeks. Took 3 hours on the phone just to get cruise planner money back... let alone the cruise itself.

I had so many issues...so many calls...in the end, the refunded all of my cruise planner money AND gave me the 125% cruise planner credits for my future booking (totally by accident).

Let’s keep in mind that this situation is out of the ordinary. Most cruise lines I have cancelled cruises with experienced delays that went over the delay that was promised.

The difference here is when I call no one can tell me anything about my cruise/refund status. And the people on the phone said it shouldn’t be like that and they don’t understand why it is and just say I have to wait. No information of any kind that is helpful. Just we don’t know anything and it’s a group reservation which it isn’t.

I've encountered the similar problems with MSC earlier this year.

In the end, I have received a refund after 3 months of cancellation.
