anyone else have problems playing fireworks?

Well I finally crashed after the first Stage. It happened to me twice today. However, after logging back in the third time I played a game of Mansion and then was able to play Fireworks again with no problem.

-I don't have sound, game interface, etc. enabled
-I click the icon to change clothes so all of my clothing loads before the first game
-I also make sure my pins and furniture are fully loaded

*not sure if any of these things help, but they have become my pre-game routine

WOW glad someone may have found the cure. I have been used to keeping sounds off in vmk due to bad crashing in mansion when I play but I'll have to try this now tomorrow to do the rest.

I had my computer turned off this past weekend since I was away, and when I turned it back on there was a shockwave and java update to install. I never play with sound because it always stops eventually, and I have not crashed in fireworks since.

Okay, my problem is that I just plain STINK at Fireworks...I have no clue how to play. I did get 2nd place today, but if you saw the scores of the people below me, you would laugh!!!

So, with this, my problem is not lag, it's just ME!!!

Thanks for posting some survival tips. You must feel like a baseball player going through a series of motions before an at bat. (hehe)

Also, I frequently see you helping others in the fireworks lobby with general game tips...very nice.

I like the baseball analogy - that's sort of how I feel like because I sincerely can't let myself start my first game without going through all of those tedious motions. lol

I do try to help others in the game - there's nothing special about me or my abilities, because everyone can get the same scores I get! The only exception to that is lag - it's the great equalizer. Happy to help any and all, though.

I'm not sure about finding a cure, but I did want to post what my routine is because I haven't had nearly the same crash problem as everyone else. Good luck, and I hope it works! If not, check to make sure Shockwave is updated as per Days' response below.

I find that I have major VMK issues when I haven't updated Shockwave and/or Java. Once I do that, then it's like the clouds open up and I can see clear skies again! Yay for not crashing, and I hope it continues!

My friend, HarryFan, is an avid Fireworks player. She can't get past the first level of the first stage. Does this have anything to do with the new clothes, inventory, and shop feature? And how about the no shirt bug?

just tried 3 times, and crashed every time! I *really* wish they would fix this, as fireworks is my only source of getting credits. I am no good at Mansion, and pirates...forget it!

I was fine yesterday but crashing in fireworks today at the end of level one.
Still learning to play fireworks but can't practice with all the crashing.

I hear ya Magic, I am no good at Pirates and only play friendly when I can get in with some friends from here. I am so bad at it lol. Mansion gets frustrating to me, I swear I can't direct my character when I play at all. I go everywhere but where I am trying to go and if I am pink and there are ten pink ghosts I end up walking into the lone green ghost in the area. It never fails, lol!

Well that finally seemed to work for me on Internet Explorer, but i still haven't found anything to help me on firefox! That may be a lost cause for now..lol

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried Avant instead of Firefox or IE?

Not sure if a browser change would help, but was wondering if anyone uses that for vmk.

I finally got one game in last night, but I could only shoot the blue fireworks because my arrow key would not let me change colors in the game. I have had that problem before with the arrow key. My arrow key works everywhere but in the game sometimes. Has anyone else ever had that problem? I was so FRUSTRATED! Well at least I got a 100 credits just from using the blue arrow key lol.

Well, I do sometimes have problems with it not changing when I want it to. Seems that sometimes I have to hit the button twice to get it to move. But I think that's just the lag of my system in the game.


I did try logging in a character after all temp files were cleared. Then I brought up the inventory and made sure that all the clothes, furniture, pins & posters were loaded.
Then I played a game without crashing.
But I only played once before going on to something else.

I was using firefox.
So, maybe that works, maybe it doesn't.

I haven't used Avant, Opera, etc. I only use firefox and IE when brining up a 2nd character.

I was able to play earlier also. I've noticed that I have had better lucky playing in the afternoon and by evening I start crashing after round 1. Could it have anything to do with more people on in the evening?

Wow. I was finally able to play my first full game in days. I switched off vmk pal and just played over IE. Hope this works for awhile because I SO need credit. I am behind!

i played a game last week, and everyone beside me crashed after 1/3. I ended up by myself, winning with a score of 3400.
