Anyone else have problem getting refunds from Disney?

I was supposedly issued a credit March 21st from Disney. I called the credit card company and they said that it can take 2 business cycles to show up on my statement but that they can see if one was made within 7-14 days (the same thing the CM said). The lady at the credit card company says there wasn't one issued...Disney says there was. What do I do?

Well its obviously been a lot more than 14 days, even only counting business days. I would get on the phone with a manager at disney and explain the situation.

What credit card was it, maybe they can do the fighting for you.

I have gotten refunds three times that I can recall. Once it went through quickly (Discover, as I recall). Twice there were ridiculous delays and it turned out that the fault was with the credit card company. If the credit card company is the Bank One/Chase monster, then I would definitely think that the problems lies with the credit card company. Those people have some bizarre ideas about credits to one's account, e.g., I transferred a balance to another card and they acknowledged receipt a couple of weeks after it should have been received, THEN said it would be another couple of weeks ("ten business days") before they would actually credit the account. Some vague nonsense about being sure that the payment was funded. Shortly thereafter, for several reasons, I closed this account. Months later I was due a refund for a change on a cruise. DCL assured me they would credit the account I used for payment. After weeks go by and I don't get the credit I realize that a year earlier when I had made that reservation I had used the credit card for the now closed account. I called DCL and she said that the credit had gone out long ago, and indicated that a credit card company should return the funds if the account was closed. Should doesn't mean will. Sure enough, when I called I had a credit on the closed account -- a closed account that I could no longer charge to, and that I definitely never desired to use again. I asked the customer service rep why they did not return the payment and what they planned to do if I had not figured out what happened and called them. He said they figured I would eventually call about it. :earseek: I told them to send me a check and I got it after three weeks.

From this experience and discussion with some other folks I get the distinct impression that when they can they delay as long as possible to post a credit after they have received funds from a third party. I also believe that they are not particularly careful or conscientious in their records.

Hope you get it tracked down and resolved quickly. :flower:

I have never had a problem- it always has been within 7 days even with DCL. hope it all gets worked out.

Well, it turns out, they refunded it to a closed account - it was the credit card I had deposited my room only on last year. Then when I charged the MYW package I used our card we have now. I assumed they would credit it back to that and in truth, had forgotten I had used the other card. I called the credit card company (which is actually the same company I have a card with now) and turns out it was refunded to that closed card. How can they do that if it was closed?? Anyways, I guess they weren't going to tell me it was on there. LOL SO, it was my fault, not Disney's. Thanks for the replies though. I was starting to freak out a little. We need that money!!! ;)
