Anyone else have kids addicted to the Military Channel?

It's not all blood and guts. They show lots of other interesting things, like military operations, planes, ships, political history, etc.

On July 4th, the whole day was about the American Revolution. :thumbsup2

If I may ask Why?

Watching it has lead to many good discussions about WWII, the Nazis and Hitler, the Holocaust, Nuclear Bombs, the Evils of War.

ITA. My ds 8 loves the Military channel and is becoming quite the war history buff. He loves that when his Great Granfather is talking about when he was at Normandy he knows what and where he is talking about. I have gotten him some books on WWI, WWII and the Vietnam War too and I'm embarrassed to say he knows more facts than I do :rolleyes1

So is mine! I think he would be happy if we got only the History Channel and the Military Channel!

We just switched to FiOs from IO and now we have the History Channel, the Military Channel, the Military History Channel and the Pentagon Channel. Dh and ds are in heaven

Sounds pretty boring to me :rotfl: but those kids will probably ACE their history classes when they get older.

History is not boring! (It was my undergrad degree.) It's fascinating! Much better than something boring like cooking shows or cartoons.

DD and DS are both History/psychology double majors. Both say they're planning on taking over the world. They'll know what has and has not worked in the past, and how to convince people to follow them. LOL. Just call me Evil Geniuses' mom.

Yes. My DS is now 12. When he was 3 I walked into my bedroom and he was watching the History channel. It was something on WWII and Hitler.
He watches the Military channel, too.

Just an FYI..I take him to the antique malls here in our town.
Well...we have acquired a dummy pineapple grenade, a Nazi armband, and a German medal, so far.

We are working on finding a Russian medal, American medal, Italian medal....well you get the idea.
We sure are having fun together learning all about the medals and where everything is from.
