When we return from our cruise, DH will take DS10 to see Nana. I havent spoken to her since Feb. It will give me time to finish up Christmas but geesch will it seem strange. Dont say make up cos it's gotta come from her first.
How would you spend a weekend by yourself in December?

Unfortunately...yes. :( My children (three teens) have had a major out with their Dad, it's been on and off for way too long now. Feel very sad for them. He is building a new house and one son is clearly "not welcome", the other two do not want to go. It's a difficult situation (and there are many others out there too).

A weekend by myself in December? That's easy! I'd be baking cookies and making antipasto items (e.g., marinated mushrooms, lupini beans, pickled eggplant).

I thought you were going to ask if we had had a falling out, were we planning to make amends.

There is someone I went off on a few months ago who didn't really deserve it. I'm thinking about sending her a note to apologize. Peace on Earth and that kind of thing.

It is going to be a very different kind of holiday season for me this year. After spending several years with someone, it isn't easy to go back to being "single". The upside is not arguing over where you will be spending the holiday, but that is a very small upside.

Yep, and I'm not sure how we are going to deal with it.
My husband and I are going to my sil's for thanksgiving dinner together, I imagine he will come over on Christmas, but it's so strange.
Since he's left, I feel so wierd when he's here. He acts like he still lives here, he still pays the mortgage, but I don't like it. He says it's because it's a habit.
It's confusing.

A weekend by myself??? With the music cranked, dancing around the house getting lots of things done!!!!

Don't worry about it ... just look forward to some alone time! You could probably use it, I'm guessing. :D

In December I would be finishing decorating, shopping, baking etc. But there are only 3 weekends before Christmas, and we are spending one at WDW, so I won't have a minute to myself!:)

I'm waiting to find out what we are doing for Thanksgiving....spending it with DH's family (mother, father, SIL, Married nieces and nephews)...or just the 6 of us....

MIL and I haven't spoken since Mid August.....not sure if she even gets why......or even cares.....

We will just have to wait and see....

No falling out but we are escaping them for Thanksgiving to NYC, does that count?
The diner at my house is closed this year for Thanksgiving.;)

Shortly after 9/11/01, I & the good SIL had a falling out with the bad SIL. Most of her other IN-laws were already in a falling out with her. LOL Only her immediate family can tolerate her. Neither of us wanted to go to bad SIL's house for Xmas, but we had to for the sake of DH's. We spent 2 hrs (instead of the usual weekend) & we were outta there! Hardly spoke to her.

This whole year, I think I've spoken to her twice. When she called here looking for DH (her brother) to help with something again. I simply answered phone & told him it was for him.

My life has been better not dealing with her stuff.

Have no idea what's going on for holidays this year. I've done my share for YEARS! I'm taking a break for a while. Someone else can pitch in. If it's at her house, I can tolerate a couple hours, but no more.
