Anyone else have a child that is a "character stalker"?

Just wondering because we have a trip coming up and I realize the only reason my DS who is 5 wants to go to Disney World is to see the characters. We have been several times and I feel like I am standing in line for characters for most of the trip. I don't mind but it drives my DH crazy. Usually, my DH and other DS who is 9 go off on their own to ride the rides while we wait on the characters. My DS is a chicken when it comes to rides so he focuses all his attention on getting an autograph and picture with every single character he can find. Also, Mickey in his Sorcerer outfit is different than Mickey in his Animal Kingdom outfit so we have to get both. He is too funny. I think it is sweet that he totally believes with all his heart and it makes me appreciate the magic of the trip. Just wondering if anyone else has a kid like this.

I'm a 23-year-old kid like that. My friends always wait in line with me but I can tell I'm the only one excited... even though I have my picture with every character I HAVE to meet them when I'm there. If I wasn't wearing something different each picture would look the exact same.

All of our free dining meals this September are character dining meals... thankfully the people I'm going with let ME plan the trip, haha. :)

We are character stalkers! We have spent countless hours at MGM Studios just sitting waiting for the characters to come out. We were forced to do rides and attractions in December as all of our MGM Studio friends are not doing Meet and Greets anymore. :guilty: :guilty: Hopefully when we are there in July that will have changed. We miss them all so much!!!

Im a stalker too... :lmao: I just have to get mu picture with every character that we found, even the ones where you have to wait in line ,my DH always joking about being the adult taking the kid(me) to see the charaters.
One time at MGM I just leave everything on the floor(backpack water ect.)
just because I saw Chip N Dale (my fav. in the whole world) and begin literally running just to hugged them and take a picture..one of so many that I had with them...really I cant help it :rotfl:

I think your DS is an absolutely wonderful child who has his priorities perfectly straight! He is also very bright, as he already realized that finding and meeting every Disney character is the most important thing to do at Disney World!! :teeth: :teeth: And he is so smart that he realized that you must also meet every variation/costume of each character as well! :)

My nephew is exactly like your DS. My nephew could care less about rides! Me and him just wander around meeting character after character, and we are both so happy! :cloud9:

I myself am a self-admitted character stalker - and what is wonderful about being a character stalker, is (unlike in "real life" when stalking) when you find your "victims", they give you a big hug (and an autograph, too!)!! :teeth:

Character stalkers - :lmao: I guess that does sound better than "character hunting"! DD and I love to do this too (I think me more than her, but she indulges me!. You can bet I am going to be STALKING during the Halloween and Christmas parties this year... I've heard (especially from the character guru - HugsforEeyore) that those are prime "hunting" season for the rare/hard to find characters!

Happy Stalking everyone!

That's me, I am always on the hunt for Piglet!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

You probably know this, but Piglet is often at character dinners at the Crystal Palace.

 my kids usually drag me away...

They get their fix the 1st night @ chef mickey's.

I get goosebumps when I see Donald Duck!

I'm the only one in my travel group who likes the characters, so I never get my picture taken with any of them. I have a lot of pictures of people I don't know with characters because I always at the very least snap a picture as I walk by!

BIG character hunters here!! We've actually changed parks and practically RAN through the park when we knew one we wanted to see was out! :lmao: The special characters that come out for MNSSHP is one of the reasons I'm so excited to go!!!

LOVE the characters. Big time stalker here. Even at my age I get all excited when I see a character. It is not unusual to see me screaming oh look there's Mickey as I am running up to him for a hug. Surprised he doesn't faint or run away. :rotfl2:

I am TOTALLY like that. I just love finding all the different characters. It is my hobby and I have about 80 different characters right now (I hope to find more on my upcoming CP).

I think sometimes I am worse than my kids. In 2001, we were entering AK and I saw Terk and ran after him with a double stroller. He was waving his hand in the air to move back but I kept moving forward. As this went on for a few seconds, my DH came up to me, I told him that I am not moving and we are seeing Terk first, he said that Terk is trying to tell me to back up to get to his "standing point". So there I was a 30 something mom being worse than the kids. In fact I think my family including Terk thought I lost it all together. I can just imagine what Terk thought. Now you would have thought I would have "grown up" since then, the answer is NO. My DS's had been trying for 2 years to find Max, Goofy's son. Well in 2003 as we are entering MK, guess who I see by City Hall. I made a dash for it to be yes 1st in line. When the kids came up to me they said,"mom you could wait for us".
