Anyone else HATE packing as much as me?

I like to make lists but can't seem to get around to the actual packing. I can't say how many trips I've been late leaving due to not being packed. Not to mention how tired I was from staying up all night. YIKES, I am really bad! You all don't know me so I feel I can confess here, LOL

NotUrsula - You have some great ideas. I really like the one about having a family toiletry bag always ready. I may have to use that one!!! Thanks.
I, too, have noticed that clothes hanging in the hotel bathroom NEVER dry. My swim suit was still wet after 2 days!!! I will bring two suits to WDW.

Greetings!

Someone on another thread mentioned sending stuff ahead of time to their hotel via UPS/FedEx.

Has anyone here done that? If so, did you send stuff back to your home before you left the hotel??

We are thinking of doing this for things like snacks, water bottles, small fans, etc.

Let me hear your thoughts!

We always plan our vacation in the early spring. SO I buy the girls spring/summer wardrobe (yes they usually have to have a new one every year.. they grow so fast) right before our trip.. then whenever I return from walmart or where-ever I hang the new clothes up in MY closet.. so when I go to pack.. there the clean ready to pack clothes are.

I also buy each family member a new pack of underwear Wash them all in one load the morning i am packing and there I have matched socks and underwear ready to go. For socks my dh has very small feet and my dd10 very large feet.. so we all three wear the same size socks. 2 econo packs from sams usually does it. dd4 gets a new pack of her own.

I make a toiletries/pharmacy list and pack it all into one carry on type bag. everyone in my family shares so its easy.

For my husband and I .. i make a detailed list.. and follow it. that way i dont forget things.

ooo i cant wait to pack.. this year I am a SAHM and will have all the time i need!

Now that I have to pack for myself and DS, I challenge myself to see how little I can pack. We always do laundry on vacation no matter where we're at, so it's really not that difficult.

I have in the past asked DH for his clothes at least 2 days before we leave. This last trip to DL, I was so stressed out and unprepared for the trip, I didn't bother with DH. I just figured he'd pack his stuff last minute like he always does. BIG MISTAKE!!!

He overpacked soooooo much, it was ridiculous! He doesn't think through how many days, when we will wash, etc. He just started throwing things in the suitcase. And since I was busy with other things, I didn't monitor it.

I didn't know how much clothes he brought until I unpacked it at the hotel.

Needless to say, I'll never do it that way again. I'm going to post a huge packing list for him on his closet door, ask him for his clothes 2-3 days in advance, and then cut his wardrobe in HALF!

I love to make packing lists and I love to pack, but only because it marks the countdown to the big day.

Be brave. Challenge yourself to bring as little as possible and just see how well you can do.

I love to pack, but I get anxiety about not packing the right things. We are going for 9 days this time and that is the longest trip we have ever taken with our dd. For my dd (4), I've been buying summer clothes for our trip (nothing from last year fits her) and putting them all in one section of her closet. Everything mixes and matches, so she should be easy to pack for.

My husband says he is packing 2 pairs of shorts and tee's for every day and one nice shirt!! He always packs several pairs of shorts and then wears the most comfortable all week.

I on the other hand am ridiculous about packing for myself. I seriously need to pack less than I did last year. At least this time we are going in April instead of Feb. I'll just vow to do laundry!!!
