Anyone else going to Parade Filming Tomorrow?

We reserved spots for the 7-11am and 12-? taping tomorrow wondering if any other DISer's taking part in this.

We are leaving for WDW tomorrow. How do you reserve a spot for the parade taping? We were planning on doing MK on Saturday. I wonder if we will see any of the taping then.

We won't be there for the taping, but I'm also curious as to the "reserving a spot" aspect. I've never heard of that. Could the OP elaborate?

There was a casting call. You could sign up to be in the crowds for the parade. I am sure they will take people when the park opens. They start at 7 AM tomorrow and you need a special pass to get in.

That's really cool! I didn't know that was how they did it! How long are they taping for? I won't be there for it which is good and bad - it would be nice to experience it but there are the crowds to deal with and it would suck up day in Disney.

Maybe you might need a special pass to get in at 7:00 A.M., but we walked in last year and were able to catch some of the parade without any special passes.

Last year they shot the parade scenes on both Friday and Saturday mornings. It was interesting to see how they interspersed these segments into the final tv show, as Friday was rather overcast, while Saturday was bright and sunny...or maybe it was the other way around. IN any event one of the days looked totally opposite of the other weather wise.

One other warning...BE PREPARED FOR HUGE CROWDS THOSE TWO DAYS!!

I'm in the filming, so I'll be there. I'm actually getting ready to leave for work now...at 2:28 am. I'll be the girl on the left side of the street...dressed in orange...7'8" tall...wearing a big cat head on my head. Enjoy the AK unit!

How did you find out about the casting call?

I'm going Sunday, the early morning call. There was one for afternoon too, so I imagine they are shooting all day on Sunday.

The morning session ran over. We didn't finish until after 12. They were filming Wynonna this afternoon at 1. We did the AK Jammin Jungle Parade and a singer I am not familiar with. A lot of standing and waiting with a little parade thrown in. The person keeping us informed was great. He made it fun.

I think I am going to go back tomorrow. If you like warmth stand on the left side of the street if you are looking at the castle. The sun hits that side of the street first. We were lined up down Main Street for most of the morning. Then they moved us closer to the hub by the Castle for the song.

Did it seem to affect the crowd size much? We were planning on going to MK this Sunday and going to AK on Monday. Thinking about switching.

I don't think it affected the crowds much. The filming was on Main St. so it shouldn't have bothered the rest of the park. The crowds were even sparse towards 11 on Main St.

The crowds were not bad last year at all, infact 10-15 minute waits on Friday last year. I heard it was the same in MK today.
