Anyone else going for the first time since FP+?

We went last June and it was super duper busy. But had it not been for the old FP system we never would've handled it. We used FP like our lives depended on it! I have a headache from all the tips, tricks, what you can/can't do, etc with FP+. And the talk of all the longer lines on typical slower times...UGH. We still have 5 mos till we go and I already have anxiety! And sadly, I'm not as excited about this trip because of it :sad2:

I've been 3times in the last 10 years, all before FP+ and am planning my first FP+ version for this October. I enjoy reading all things Disney and am soaking up the DISboards, but it does stress me out a little. I think I'll be ok because we always have very general plans (I.e. Hit this area of the park first, work around counter clockwise, use legacy FP approx 4 times a day, schedule ADRs) but not super-structured touring plan. I'm hoping FP+ fits into that style regardless of me grasping all the finer points!

I think my problem will be that I've got 5 months to go and it sounds like there are still tweaks and changes occurring - and some things just make more sense when you're actually hands on vs reading about it. By the time I get there, I think it will all be a complete jumble in my head!:confused3

I can only suggest that rather than getting frustrated that you spend the next 5 months when you have free time trying to plan your trip so that you put yourself in the best possible situations each day with backup options in case plan A isn't going to plan.

We have not been back since they changed to FP+, I postponed a trip from May until November since the system seemed so wonky still. Luckily they do seem to be working things out and I am hopeful that by November it will be smooth sailing.

We are heading down very soon and it will be our first Magic Band/FP+/etc. experience. A little apprehensive about it, but not ridiculously so.

We are going back in October this year and it will be our first time with FP+ as well. I am used to knowing everything about the parks and how things work and this has me feeling a little lost. So glad I'm not alone in that. I'm doing all I can to research, but still not really understanding it all. I think we are just going to have to experience it to feel comfy with it. :)

I understand what you are saying. We were at Disney last June and had a great time too. I am trying to finish up plans for this June's trip. I love Disney but have to admit that the planning for this trip has been a pain and has caused us stress that we haven't had in the past. But at 5 months away, things could be very different so try not to worry too much about it at this point. I also know that we are still going to have a good time but this is the first year that I have not enjoyed the planning. As often as we have been it is still hard to know if we are going to be in that part of the park at the time we made our FP+ or will we have to cross the park to make sure we don't miss anything. :confused3 We are also concerned about the longer lines for our filler rides. Hard to put much stock in the reports that are coming in from the past couple of weeks since when we will be there, the crowd levels will be 8 and 9 and that is not the levels right now.
