Anyone else get really nervous right before you leave?

I get nervous that we'll oversleep the day of departure, too. Especially if we have to get up at an unusual time. Last trip we needed to get up at 3 am, we set 6 alarm clocks, 3 battery, in case of power failure! Then I worried that the batteries would die! Well, no need to wake up on time, I didn't sleep the whole night before the trip, started off sleep deprived!

Sorry if I get off topic!!
We used to put our dog in the kennel, and did feel very bad about it. I would keep telling myself that he doesnt own a watch, and even if there is a clock he can't tell time. What would also bother me is we usually leave our house at 4am for our flight so we'd have to bring him to the kennel the night before and we couldn't pick him up until the day after we returned (usually get in really late) Now we use a great dog sitter. She comes in 4 times a day and they play & watch tv together (animal planet). This is her business... She stays for 1/2 hr. and when we first started using her we asked our neighbors to keep an eye out... sure enough.. did just what she said she'd do! We feel very lucky to have her

That's good. :)
I have to take our dog the day before our trip also but we'll be able to pick him up the day we come home.

Oh yeah, and my hubby and I tend to have the worst fights driving to WDW from the airport. He doesn't do well taking directions while driving especially when I'm not sure about where I'm going myself though somehow things are always my fault. :sad2: I have the remedy THIS time. I'M DRIVING! Once we are there and know where we are going, we're fine.

I THINK we must be married to the same man, even when we get to FL (or wherever else we go) I am supposed to psychically know where to go, how to get there, & above all I must remain calm. DH does tend to panic in the face of the unknown, LOL.

Just like when I was a little kid during Christmas. I can't sleep, I double and triple-check all the luggage, tix, itineraries. I'm extra nice to my cats, perhaps because I feel a little bit guilty for leaving them. (Believe me, it's still nicer to them than bringing them along.)

And I do wonder if I feel just a little nervousness because I'm the one who does the bulk of the planning. DH enjoys Disney, but I'm the fanatic and so planning falls to me. I'm more than willing to do it, I love it, I'll spend free time strategizing and budgeting for the next trip. But then I also feel a little pressure to make sure the trip not only lives up to my expectations, but his too. (And that's been the case when others went along, too; I've always been the tour guide.)

Still, once we land at the Orlando Earport, I'm set. Any nervousness I had gives way to excitement tinged with just a bit of impatience to be on-World already!

I have nightmares for weeks before a trip, especially if it's a trip that is solely dependant on the plane arriving on time. Before our cruise, I had horrific dreams about missing our flight, finding out at the airport that my husband was a wanted terrorist and we couldn't fly (I didn't care about the terrorist part, I was just mad because we couldn't go on the cruise), that I had no clothes except the grubby ones I wore on the plane...you name it, I dreamt it. I was so terrified of missing my flight, even though it was the day before, I don't think I slept more than an hour. We even stayed in a hotel in Orlando the night before to give ourselves extra time and I was worried then about dropping off the rental car, checking in, convinced that we didn't actually have a reservation and it was all a figment of my imagination, etc. It took me days to calm down once on the ship.

It's not always this bad, but our upcoming trip will send me into a tizzy for weeks. I think I set my heart too much on these trips. I get very heavily invested.

I get really nervous and unable to sleep, can't wait to sleep and the time just seems to lag on and on.
