Anyone else get really nervous right before you leave?

5 weeks, and I'll be feeling it too. I guess I am already starting. :bitelip: Just want everything to be PERFECT! Is that too much to ask? :teeth:

Happens to me too!! I thought I was craz, but glad to see there are others along with me :thumbsup2

I get sick too, we checked in one morning after arriving late the night before, and ended up skipping animal kingdom for a later day because we arrived so late and I didn't feel well. I'm taking a Tylenol PM the night before we leave this time, so that I sleep well.

Ok, Guys, thanks alot! I don't leave for another two months and I was fine. Then, I read this thread and NOW I get butterflies and anxious.

I was for SURE that I would have at least a month or so before I got this way.

Hope everyone going before me has good sleep, well packed luggage, and all tickets needed in check!! :thumbsup2

COunt me in - I was fine until a few days ago and then blam - I needed to re-check all my plans and ADRS and everything. I already have my packing list made. I am not sure how I will be the night before but I know once I am there we will have fun! :thumbsup2

We don't leave for another 2 1/2 months, and I've already had one nightmare, airport related. I dreamed we got to the airport and our plane had left 2 HOURS earlier..I had accidentally booked an earlier flight than I had thought!

I think its all the thinking and planning we as women do. I don't know about you guys, but I am the one who does ALL the research, footwork, packing & planning for Disney. DH & kids just show up. Which is probably my own fault because I would feel really scared to leave any of it up to DH! :rotfl:

FYI, in case you run out and you don't already know this Tylenol PM is just tylenol w/ plain 25mg benadryl. You can get this in generic (diphenhydramine). its ALOT cheaper to buy it that way and better for you if you don't need the extra tylenol. I posted earlier I too self medicate w/ Benadryl! my drug of choice :teeth: , even our dog gets 1-2 during allergy season!(he's allergic to the pollen)

My DW doesn't want to do any of the planning. She trusts my neurotic planning skills and lets me take over the research, scheduling and planning.

And I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets so worked up before the trip.

THANK YOU for these posts!!! :thumbsup2

I'm leaving in 18 days and I have been getting butterflies in my stomach for the past two months! We are taking an afternoon flight and I KNOW I will not sleep the night before and that whole day will go by soooooo sloooooow... :woohoo:

P.S. Anyone who takes Tylenol PM I found just the 'PM' part (with no pain reliever) from the makers of Tylenol. Got it at Walmart next to the Tylenol. It was cheap too...I think around $4 for 12 or something like that. You better believe I will be taking that the night before :)

I also get nervous before we leave! Our next trip isn't until December, and I'm already fretting about forgetting anything. Of course this trip, I will need to take extras like: small christmas tree, cookies and Santa's special plate, tree decorations, tree lights, wrapping paper, and all kinds of Christmas stuff.(of course the fact that I'm an overpacker doesn't help either!) I think I'm nervous no matter what kind of trip we go on...I know that if I forget anything, I can always stop and buy a replacement, but, it doesn't help me sleep better the night before. I think my nervousness stems from my DD being an All Star Cheerleader and travelling to competitions. If I happen to forget any piece of her uniform - oh, I don't even want to think about it!! Thank goodness my DH is the calm and reassuring one!! He always tells me - "Don't worry, you didn't forget anything" and then he'll try to remember what was on my checklist to see if I remember packing it.

I get nervous before the trip worrying about making our flight in time. I was so concerned the first time, that we drove down to the airport the night before and stayed in a hotel so we could get to the plane bright and early the next day. That made me feel better so we are doing it again this year!! Can't wait :woohoo: :yay: :p

i do not get nervous, it's more like a feeling of anticipation and excitement all rolled into one.

I had lists, lists, lists - what to pack in suitcase, carryon, what to do as we left the house, what to buy on the way to the park...it was the only way I could keep everything straight! I am glad I had those, because the night before my DH suddenly noticed it was a little cool in the house...turned out our furnance had broken and couldn't fire up. Spent the evening calling and finally got someone to agree to come at 6 am - didn't show up until 7 am. We were dressed and ready, but since we didn't want to "advertise" we were leaving, we had to act very noncholant while he was here. Got out the door at 8, about 1/2 hour later than planned, and checked in at 9:00 for a 10 am flight, so everything was OK, but talked about freakin' out!

I'm starting to get nervous and we are going 8-18. I just booked our flight and I don't like to fly so that will have me nervous until take-off. I'm already sad about leaving our dog in a kennel and knowing I'll be stuck taking him. :( I'll definitely cry then and I'll cry off and on that entire day. I get homesick before we leave but like others once there I'm thrilled.

Also, I'm alittle nervous about our dinner at Chef Mickeys and the first time I see Cinderella's castle. I'm a cryer and it's been a few years since our last trip. DH and especially DD 16 will look at me like I'm nuts when I can't fight the tears. I hope I don't scare Mickey off. DD 6 can't wait to see him. :)

I was so nervous before we left last time that I kept pacing around the apartment to check things and I stubbed my baby toe! Badly! Some advil taken precautionarily every day took care of the pain mostly, but it did teach me to calm down this next trip!

The benadryll remedy sounds like a good one. However, I am afraid we will oversleep. We are planning to hit the road to drive at 3 am. DH already sleeps through the alarm clock EVERY morning. It would be crazy if I slept through it too. DS and DD both got their very own alarm clocks two years ago, and I am sure this will be the first time they will use them.

ENJOY YOUR TRIP!!!!

I am all about saving money!!! however, since there is a Walmart near Disney how about going there to get the stuff you'll need such as gift bags, etc?

Sorry if I get off topic!!
We used to put our dog in the kennel, and did feel very bad about it. I would keep telling myself that he doesnt own a watch, and even if there is a clock he can't tell time. What would also bother me is we usually leave our house at 4am for our flight so we'd have to bring him to the kennel the night before and we couldn't pick him up until the day after we returned (usually get in really late) Now we use a great dog sitter. She comes in 4 times a day and they play & watch tv together (animal planet). This is her business... She stays for 1/2 hr. and when we first started using her we asked our neighbors to keep an eye out... sure enough.. did just what she said she'd do! We feel very lucky to have her

I just get nervous that my family won't like the trip I planned, regardless of whether its to WDW or any other destination. I guess I worry too much, but i'm the one who plans all the details and then I worry that it won't work out. My kids are older now, perhaps I should allow them to plan some activities (they have input, just I make the final decisions), that way if they plan something and its not quite what they expected when they get there at least I don't hear "why'd we come all this way for this?" or words to that effect. Oh, well, every trip can't be perfect in every way, just go and have fun and expect there to be some rough spots. It all works out.
