Anyone else get lost driving on Disney property???

I think one of the biggest factors is knowing if you want:

The Magic Kingdom? or
The Magic Kingdom Resorts?

Epcot? or
Epcot Resorts?

Then you see how it can be confusing. Anything that isn't at a theme
park is generally covered under "Resorts" area. And my favorite sign:

All Other Guest Areas

As long as you follow that sign, you'll still be directed around WDW property.
That's the last sign you're going to see before you are off property. ;)

I once made the mistake of taking the Epcot exit because I wasn't paying
attention to the Epcot Resort Area exit. No big deal, I turned around and
got where I wanted to go.

My favorite navigation memory was when I was traveling with others in
1998. My friend rented a car, but I was always the navigator, and I got us
where we needed to go as long as I said, "We need this exit coming up."
Well, we split up at night after visiting Ft. Wilderness, and I got back to
the resort with other friends, while the friend I left driving a group of others
didn't get back to Port Orleans quite that fast. It seems they were headed
on 1-4 to Tampa before they realized something was wrong.

apparently I missed the thousands of signs pointing me in what would have been the correct way to go.

"Thousands of signs?" Wow! You and I must have visited a different Walt Disney World somehow.

If we do a whole vacation at WDW, we use the bus. But sometimes if we are nearby for a business trip or whatever we drive. Never once have we not made at least one wrong turn. But hey, we are at WDW, we will live!

We were just there in October and stayed at Bonnet Creek which is next to the Caribbean Beach Resort. We drove everywhere and got lost quite a few times.

It was especially bad trying to get back from Super Walmart.

Never been a problem for me. The signs are pretty clear, even if they do sometimes send you the long way.
Agree. I think it is one of the few places in the U.S.A. where you have lots of signs continually identifying everything. Also, there are truly not that many roads on property if you look at a map.

I still get lost on Disney property and I live down here!! One day I was driving my son to his music lessons in Kissimmee, and I ended up in Animal Kingdom! :sad2:

Traffic anywhere in the Orlando area - including on Disney property has gotten so crazy that we no longer even rent a car. Always have a town car pick us up at the Airport - take us to our "Disney Home" resort and we use Disney transportation for the duration of our stay. We just adjust our schedules to accomodate the time we need using the buses, and have never had any problem. It's kind of nice to let someone else do the driving. And this is another treat we give ourselves- Just love seeing the "Welcome Home Wenzel's" Sign when we come down the escalator to get our bags :cool1:

We always get lost, but I do not care, I just take in the scenery, I do not get to go too often, so it is nice just to be lost.

I'm actually beginning to feel smart. I never have been lost at Disney. Read the signs. They really are there.
(I hope I didn't jinx our next trip!)

Um, one word... Yup! I live in the area and I still get lost sometimes. The property is twice the size of Manhattan so it's not too hard. Try navigating the backstage areas, more fun...lol
