As of yesterday we were under a winter storm warning from 10pm last night until 10pm tonight. We were supposed to get a total of 10-22 inches of snow.

Well, I woke up around 6am. It was no longer snowing. We got 6-8 inches. But it looks like we are done! I feel bad for those who got the opposite...who weren't expecting much snow and are now getting pommelled.

I guess the kids around here will enjoy their snow day. The roads are clear, the sun is shining. And there is a heavy layer of wet snow which will be perfect for sledding.

We got 11.2" of snow so far, but it's suppose to snow all day today. Expected to get an additional 2-5". North of us was only suppose to get 8-10 inches and they got more than expected with 5' snow drifts. We got a 3' snow drift in front of our house and driveway. DH is out snowblowing now. Our roads are not clear and there's no way our cars would make it out there.

They should have the roads clear by days end and there should be school tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the sun that's expected tomorrow.

Yeah, we received like 4", which is nothing for us...they were predicting 12" from this storm. That said, we are getting a little more mixed weather instead, which actually is worst because it creates more slush and icy conditions.

same here in albany. We only got about 6-8 but it is sleeting now. So far, I'm the only one into work.

Well we got less snow than predicted however they predicted that. So they covered their bases.:rotfl: I would say 2" of sleet and 2" of snow, maybe? I am not sure.

They said depending on how much ice we get, depends on how much snow you get. We were right on the line and had ice all day yesterday.

My sister lives up in Wentzville where they closed HWY 70 yesterday, she got over a foot.

Now we have wind and dropping temps with a wind chill problem coming tonight with double digits below zero.

Here in SE MA in doesn't look like we got what they were predicting...nothing is in the trees and at 9 a.m. it is raining.. no complaints tho! :)

I was going to answer yes, but then I see you are in Rochester as well. Hi Neighbor. :goodvibes

I am shocked that they cancelled school today. My DH got up at 4 to go to the gym and told me there was no way they would cancel, the call came at 5am. :confused3 Last week we had 25 below windchills and they didn't cancel, today they did. Crazy. But, my kids are thrilled, they will be haded out to play in it soon. Looks like about 8 new inches.

We were supposed to get 5-6 inches. Got a couple yesterday but that was it. What we did get was subzero wind chills. Factoring wind it is -16 out there. Wonder if my car will start.

We were supposed to get 6-8, we got about 4. We have a couple days of bitter cold on tap and then the 30's for the weekend. Hopefully we can get some of this to melt before the next round.

Yes central Arkansas, they at first predicted we were going to get it, but only ended up raining monsoon style.

Yep, and my street was clear by 6 a.m. this morning. I'm calling shenanigans on this whole "snowpocalypse" thing.

Up here in Oswego county, we got 3-4 inches (which was done by the time I got up today) and no precipitation of any kind so far today. It's just gloomy out there!

It's snowing right now... We were supposed to miss most of the storm, but they've been upgrading the number of centimetres every few hours. I'm guessing we'll get more than predicted, but no biggie - we get dumps like this several times a year.

It's only unusual because the air is cold enough to make the snow dry and dusty, so it's blowing all over the place. That makes driving dodgy and has resulted in all the school busses being cancelled.

Which reminds me... I should call the school and let them know my son won't be in today for the "limited programs" they've arranged - basically child care! (My poor daughter takes public transit, so she didn't get the day off.)

Now sure how much snow they called for because we were paying attention to all the ice they were calling for. So between monday night and today we got 4.5" of snow and a lot of ice.

I work in the finger lakes region - so I drove to work last night since I absolutely had to be here to be on duty at 6am. As it turns out, my drive would have probably been MUCH better had I waited until this morning. I ended up driving through the worst of what we got down here - right around midnight.

I love the sensational media attention this is getting. I know a lot of people got quite a bit of snow, but the media coverage - at least around here - was a little out of control...especially since we live in a region know for snow.

We're in a western suburb of Chicago. We got about 18 inches so far and drifts almost to the top of our 6 foot wood fence in the back yard. DH had to take off the storm door on our front door just to get out. Our front porch is covered but we had a drift so high, he couldn't open the door.

He's so unhappy at work right now that he's happy to be covered in snow clearing the driveway and all of the neighbors. I'm so glad that we bought a huge snow blower last year!

We're in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and we got just what was predicted - two feet of snow, four to five foot drifts. And it's still snowing.

In Albuquerque the schools and colleges were closed yesterday and today. But we didn't really get any more snow last night, residential streets are clean. But it's 1 degree outside and there's a wind, so everything is frozen. Will try to get the ice off our cars later today, when it gets up to 20.
