We just returned from a 5 night stay using the free DDP. This is the first time we used the DDP and eating at CS restaurants. Not really sure what happened but the first night we ended up getting a free Margarita at Peppers Market (lots of confusion by the CM at the register, we had ordered 2 margaritas but what with the confusion as to what food was included and what have you we didn't realize we'd only gotten charged for 1 margarita until we got back to the room).

Then on Day 2 I ordered a veggie burger combo meal with apple slices at Cosmic Rays. When the CM handed me the tray there was fries and no apples and I said I had the apples NOT the fries, so she put apples on the tray and handed to me and I handed it back saying I didn't get the fries. She just had a confused look on her face and stared at me and handed me the tray again. There comes a point where you just take free food! :goodvibes

Day 3 - no free food :guilty:

Day 4 - our anniversary, Jiko's gave us a free creme brulee :cool1:

Day 5 - Ordered 3 DDP combo meals at Columbia House with the 3 desserts, and 1 combo meal not on the DDP (out of credits) so no dessert. Somehow when we got the trays there were not 3 desserts, not 4 desserts, but 5 desserts! Again there was so much confusion with us trying to get our drinks and sides right and attempting and failing to give back the free desserts we just kept them.

No wonder the price of the DDP is going up next year!:rotfl:

Hmm, I don't see these as free.

Day 1 Honest mistake, Margaritas aren't on the DDP so you could have said, hey we got an extra and paid for it the next day.

Day 2 Once food is given to a guest they can't serve it, so yup bonus food or garbage. They wouldn't even take it out of the veggie burger basket and serve them, even if it hasn't been passed to you.

Day 5 Especially if any of them were packaged you could have given them back, once again an honest mistake by the CM.

Not sure why you all had so much confusion during transactions we had no problems anywhere during our stay over Labor Day.

Hope you at least ate and drank those extras and didn't just pitch 'em.

We kept getting those giant 32 oz sodas with our CS meals instead of the 20 ouncers. Which was fine. On super crowded days (Sunday before Labor Day at MK, yikes) there was chaos and confusion at Cosmic Ray's, so I can see how mistakes could be made. The rest of the week after Labor Day was virtually empty in the CS restaurants.

Our first night DD17 was given the wrong appetizer at Marrakesh and the server noticed right before he put it in front of her. He just left it and brought out the correct one a few mins later. That was cool because she actually was wavering between the two, and got to try both!

My son ordered a fruit salad at Jiko's that I planned to pay for out of pocket. Our server said it went through free (some glitch that she noticed, but decided to go along with), so that was a free $3 or so.

I'll preface my sharing by saying that I felt truly lucky to get the extras we did, totally did not plan on them or expect them and was happily surprised and delighted to get them! Ok....

We got a free drink for our DD (2) at all of our table service meals. She shared meals with our DS (4) and I planned on paying OOP for her drink at the non-buffets, but they all gave them to us no-charge. This was at Kona, WCC, WPC and LeCellier.

Not sure if this was a "freebie" b/c not sure which times it was done correctly, but at 2 of our CS lunches the kids got the main entree, 2 sides (applesauce and grapes) AND a dessert. Another 2 times they could have gotten EITHER 2 sides OR 1 side + 1 dessert.

The workers that give the food and check you out, want as little problem as posible and keep the lines moving. They also don't want any problems or deal with people with problems. I was at CSR last year and When I went to the check out the lady said I had a side of bacon that wasn't covered by the DDP and that she would have to charge me for it. With a smile :thumbsup2 , I said OK and , then she was like, really, most people complain and yell and ask to see a MGR. Becuase you are so nice and different I'm not going to charge you for the side. I said Thank You :goodvibes and then karma continued going at other dining locations ,.....

Most of your "free" food was by accident, when the CMs made mistakes, not because they were giving away extras. The magarita they just forgot to charge you for, the fries would of just ended up in the trash, and the extra desserts were probably put on your tray by mistake. The only thing I really see as a free extra is the creme brulee at Jiko. Like you said, it was your anniversary, and Disney tends to make a big hurrah out of special occasions.

We went to ESPN for two adult TS and my daughter (who is past the child age) ordered the macaroni and cheese and two milkshakes so we were just going to pay for those OOP.

When the server came back from putting it through she said everything we order (2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 dietcokes, two desserts) PLUS the two milkshakes went through so we only needed to pay for the macaroni and cheese. She said she just puts it through and sometimes the computer accepts certain items...and no they didn't come through as snacks.
