I've always gotten a credit toward a future flight if the fare was reduced and they had seats available. I just call and tell them the fare went down and could I get a credit for the difference. You won't get cash or a credit on your credit card. Only toward a future flight and it has to be used within a year of the ORIGINAL booking date.
I've always been able to get a credit when my flight's fare was reduced. I always check it. I soon as I see the reduction I call.
Maybe that was me. I did get a credit after my return flight was changed from nonstop to connecting. I had not paid the "full" price...just what the web special was at the time, which was about 106.00 each way..then when they started their sale and the price went to 48.00 each way I just called and asked for a credit to my A+ member account(free to join)...it was not a refund of any sort...it is to be used for a future flight. Actually, I've done it a few times...from 106.00 to 89.00 then 89.00 to 48.00 for my August trip and also once for my September trip.
I would call back if the fare is still less than you booked and ask again for a credit for future flights. HTH

Another thing...were your tickets nonrefundable?
We did call DIsney the other night (this time my hubby called). I thought he was getting somewhere with them, but NOPE!! The cm said she was calling Airhelp then came back on and said no. SHe said something along the line that what if Airtran uped the cost would we then owe them money??

)(Personally I think the "you owe" is an intersting idea. Folks are here always want 'credit' what if the airline wanted "credit"?)
However, getting your credit is going to be next to impossible. When you book via Disney you did NOT buy the airfares you see on line. You bought a "bulk airfare" that is negoiated between Disney and AirTran. So the fact that you "see" a cheaper airfare doesn't matter. Your ticket is not part of that pool.
If you want to play the "credit game", I suggest you always buy directly from the airline. Buying via a tour operator generally means no credit. Buying from an online TA means you deal with them... GOOD LUCK. In most instances I have seen they won't deal with the credits.
To be honest with you I dont want to play any kind of "game"! I do not think it is right that when I booked my vacation I picked the times of the flights that were good for me, and the flight home got switched to a connecting flight and would be almost three hours later then our orginal flight. I have two kids and getting home at 4-5 am is not an option. I had to pay another $163.00 to stay another night just to get a good flight back home. Needless to say no one ever let me know of this change. I found out about it on these boards. I do understand that airlines change flights all the time, but it would have been nice to be aware of this change.
That's a completely different situation then a price credit. In this case you normally can ask to have the entire ticket cancelled. However, that means you have to find another flight so make sure you can get something you can afford and like. You still aren't going to get a "partial" credit due to price changes.
