Anyone else get "all choked up" at WDW?

Illuminations does it to me every trip...the castle is another choker for me as well.

Illuminations does it to me every time. It was the last thing I saw with my Dad. I still tear up the minute it starts. I can picture him sitting next to me, looking at everything going on like a little child. My DH makes the same face as he watches now and I see my DD look at him and smile. Amazes me everytime. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Wishes gets my DH teary (well, me too). He also tears up when we turn the corner to Main St. and see the castle. I love to see a grown man cry. LOL. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Stop it already! I'm geting misty just reading all of the posts on this thread!!
I know it's o.k. for guys to be emotional these days, but it's still a little strange in such a public setting! And sometimes my kids just don't get it why I get teary eyed watching them be kids!!

During Wishes last week!! It was the last night of our vacation. My boys were standing beside there with their faces toward the sky and the reflection of the fireworks on their faces. Our trip was so perfect--so magical! My DH looked at me and said "Do you know how long we've waited for this?" I think even he was a little choked up. Oh no, I'm getting misty eyed just thinking about that moment.

Yep, just tearing up reading some of your posts!

Errrrr, every weekend something happens to choke me up and we have gove over 90 days in the last 8 months! You can read many of them at MJ's Blog in my Profile.....

Briefly: Wishes, Tarzan Rocks! (MJ's adoption song is You'll Be In My Heart), SpectroMagic (MJ's Fave parade), Watching her with characters (it took 45 days before she'd go near them), watching her with our CM's (what can I say, they rock!), Fantasmic! and too many more to name!

I cried all week last week! It was such a magical trip! :wizard:

Mickey arriving on the train in the morning with my 10 year old hugging me all excited, my Mom at my side with a big grin, and my toddler on her daddy's shoulders waving to her other hero..."Mickey, Mickey, Mickey!" :cloud9:

My toddler's preschool workers said she has been chanting his name ever since she went back to school-LOL!

Um, I pretty much cry the whole time! :teeth:

Things at or about Disney that make me cry:
Talking about it sometimes
This thread
Commercials
Travel Channel specials
Music
Wishes
Illuminations
Fantasmic
Main Street
Spectromagic
The American Adventure
Seeing Mickey Mouse
Getting off the plane and seeing the airport Disney store
The Walt Disney World sign

I'm sure there are tons more, but I just get all choked up at Disney!!!

I find myself tearing up at WDW commercials, too. My family rolls their eyes when a WDW or Hallmark or Kodak commercial comes on! Others that always get me are the first look at the castle, Illuminations (even tho I think I've seen it about 25 times now!), and watching my kids discover something that blows their mind. See, now I'm crying!

I used to cry the minute I saw Kalim, our limo driver. But I learned to control myself because it upset him so :confused3

I lose it the second the song "We Go On" starts during Illuminations.

It REALLY got to me the first time I heard it post-9/11. I never thought I'd ever cry that hard in public. When I looked around, I saw a lot of people in the same boat. Hankies and tissues were out everywhere.

Three weeks ago we viewed Illuminations with a young CM friend of the family who's had an extremely difficult year. We all hugged and cried together and shared a special moment.

Okay, I don't know why, but I always feel very emotional at the beginning of the Lion King at the Animal Kingdom. I love that show! It is so many performers that look like they are having fun trying to make all of the audience have fun. We have a lot of live theatre/broadway in my area which we frequent, and it always amazes me how good the WDW talent is! I tear up every time!

Oh I love reading what makes people sentimental in the world! I always feel like I'm coming home when I step onto Main Street in the Magic Kingdom! It's such a memory and such a feeling of HERE I AM! My husband and I have already planned a trip to disney with our FIRST DAUGHTER (to be born in January) for September. That will be the beginning of NEW MEMORIES! :Pinkbounc

I'm so bad I was watching Oprah on break the other day and Oprah was taking a group of kids to Disneyland for the day. I was bawling! My fiance who is going with my family for the first time (we go in 16 days by the way!) looked at me like, "what am I getting myself into." :rolleyes1

I am extremely happy when I walk down main street and see the Castle, but its Wishes that makes me cry. I think its so many emotions that go on at once. I hear the first few notes of Wishes while standing in front of the Castle, and I'm a basket case!

Oh, watching Wishes and hearing Jimminy Crickets voice gets me every time. Also, the lion king show usually gets me too. The first time I saw it I felt silly for tearing up when they sing "Circle of Life" but I looked around and saw I wasn't alone. There was an elderly man near me wiping his eyes too!

Could someone please tell me about the opening with Mickey on the train? I've never seen that before and I would love to experience that with my kids. Do you stand below the train station to watch it? I'm totally miffed by the rope drop thing. The only time I was there at opening was AK and it was too crowded to be anywhere near a rope drop. I couldnt see anything.

Oh yeah, and the worst for me is, when we stand and take a long look at the statue of Walt and Mickey Mouse in front of the castle. Oh lord, I gotta quit thinking about it!

Another time I cried at WDW was when our family saw Peter Pan and Wendy outside Pirates of the Caribbean and my DD was a little scared to approach them (first characters we saw on our first trip) so they both came up to my little blue-eyed blonde (4 at the time) and called her Tinkerbell. They spoke to her for a few minutes as if she really was Tink and it made her more at ease. She fell in love with Peter Pan that day. The rest of the trip she told all characters (esp the Princesses) that she was the real Tinkerbell because Peter said so. It was wonderful and amazing. A first hand glimpse at Disney Magic.

I cry when I am ON THE BUS and see SM in the distance. I REALLY cry when I walk through that train station, see that castle and realize that I'm ACTUALLY there!! DS9 and I have The Happiest Celebration on Earth CD, Wishes, Illuminations, and Fantasmic! We listen to them in the car and catch ourselves trying to hold back so the OTHER one doesn't cry!!! We're HOPELESS!!!!
