I booked this trip after being there in Feb and enjoying low crowd levels. We've been in June (unbearable crowds), April (not too bad) and Feb (wonderful!).

Now, with all the events, I'm seeing that resorts are sold out and I'm having a panic attack! We'll be there 11/6-11/16 and I hope that we're not lost among the crowds there for SSW, F&W, Jersey Week, etc.

Are we gonna be able to see and do what we'd like during this trip, or spend all of our time in line? Please help me calm down :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: !!!

We will be there from Nov 8 to 15 and are preparing ourselves for the crowds. However, I really can't imagine that it would be worse than in July when my husband and I were on our honeymoon. Remember that the FTP and resort sell outs are for the WDW resorts only. Unless there were some extra great packages for "outside" resorts, then I'm sure it won't be that bad.

Somtimes I wonder if they are really selling every room of every resort during low season. We have been there 3 times in November and its always been really low crowd levels. With the economy the way it has been I find it hard to believe that there totally selling out every room at every on property resort.

We were there in Nov last year and the crowds were minimal - but because of the FTP I too am getting a bit nervous for this year - because worrying is what I do! We'll be there from 11/14 - 11/21 and I've been worrying that the Saturday before Thanksgiving lots of people will be coming to start their Thanksgiving week vacation - oh well - we were planning on leaving early that morning anyway!

Where are you all finding out this information that there will be heavier crowds than normal due to some sort of special events?

What is Jersey Week, SSW, F&W and how do you know about them?

Just wondering.

Hey Andra

Not sure about "heavy crowds" but personally speaking I am having trouble getting my choice in resorts during 11/6 - 11/11. I know at least the resorts will be full if not the parks!!

CM's are indicating that weekend is busy due to SS - Super Soap weekend at MGM - F&W - Food and Wine Festival at Epcot and FTP - was the package Disney offered with discounts.

You can find all the happenings here and on the disney website as well as wdwig - all great places for information.

HTH - Hope This Helps!!

Cool TJ, Thanks!

Where in MA are you from? I lived in Revere forever
until moving to Atlanta 2 years ago.
(and yes I did have big hair once upon a time...)

Can you pass the Aqua Net?

Dont' forget to add the Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney to the events going on in Novmember (same weekend as Super Soaps). These events are every year and I don't recall reading anywhere that November is a particularly busy time of year, except around Thanksgiving. At least I hope not.

I've been doing some playing around on the WDW website online reservations. I was just looking for the week that my family is going (Nov 8 - 15) and found the following:

All Stars Movies/Sports available in all room types
All Stars Music preferred rooms avail.

All moderates available in all room types (except POFQ, closed for rehab).

No deluxes available.

Home away from home available were Old Key West deluxe villa and 2 BR villa, Ft Wilderness cabins.

So, for at least that week, it's really not all that bad.

If every room on wdw property was packed with four people each, and they were the only ones in the parks, it'd seem like no one was there.

We were there around the same time last year, and there were no appreciable crowd problems. Keep in mind, of course, that if you try to go standby on Space Mountain at 2:00 in the afternoon, you're going to almost always have an hour wait. Getting there early and using fastpass are going to do wonders for your ability to see things.

And if you follow that strategy, even at the busiest times of year, you will pretty much always be able to do all the things you want. Certainly, early November won't be a problem for you.

We are heading down to WDW Nov 14-21 this year did went the exact same time last year. We love it the longest I think we waited in a standby line was 20 - 25 mins for BTMRR. RnR we walked on thre times in a row.

I do think crowds will be up a little from last year but my thinking is not many parents will pull their kids out of school the week before a major holiday! We will have to wait and see if I am right.

In the meantime my family will take full advantage of EMH and FP whenever possible!

We are going Nov 15-25 and we are pulling our ds out of school for those days, but I'm hoping that ragu is right and not many others will, lol!

We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, but when I tried for a villa there I was told it was not available for my dates. I think that's because part of our dates are during Thanksgiving week.

I'll be there Jersey week Nov. 2nd thru 8th for the first time, staying at the WL. We picked this time because it is supposed to be less crowded. I started to get nervous that it may be more crowded than I thought, however, the more I think about it, I believe crowd levels overall will be low.

It's true that if I go to Disney's web sites and enter my dates there is no availablity in any deluxe resort except Fort Wilderness Cabins. So you would think all the deluxe resort are sold out for the week, however, this is not true. If I instead enter Nov 4th & 5th there is availablity for those two nights at ALL the deluxe resorts.

So just because your dates aren't available for the nights you want doesn't mean the hotel doesn't have a lot of empty rooms. There just isn't one room available for all the nights you are requesting.

Looks like several of us DISers will be there at the same time. We are going November 8-16, and we are taking DD out of school. It is her senior year and she graduates in January. She has never been taken out of school for a vacation, so I think it's high time;) . Last chance and all. See you at Disney!

I'm taking my son out of school November 8-15. This will be our third trip and I have always taken him out of school. I figure since he is still in elementary school, make up work has been pretty simple. We will be staying at the WL for the first time. I also believe that the crowds can not be any worse than going during the summer.

I have also been concerned about the "crowds" (and I'm from NJ!). We will be there from Nov. 7th - Nov. 17th. I was playing around with the dates on Disney reservations and while there are no deluxes available for Nov. 7th & 8th, if you plug in your dates starting with Nov. 9th there are plenty of choices (even the Polynesian has every view available). I think the weekend of Nov. 8th & 9th will be very busy (all those Soap Stars staying at deluxes) but after Veterans Day things will quiet down. We can always hope anyway.

We are also going from Oct 31 to November 12. ( staying off site:( , then on to Universal) .We were also in Disney from August 2nd thru the 12th. I have to agree with crazy4themouse, it can't be any worse than the summer crowds. New Jersey is not that big:) And when we were there in August I was expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised that we got done everything we wanted to do and see and then some! Disney will always be crowded, so if you go with the flow(and fastpass)you will have a great time, crowded or not!

We were there 11/2-11/9 last year. It was Jersey Week, Festival of the Masters, Food and Wine, Super Soap Weekend and whatever else. The crowds were minor. Maybe slightly on the upper end for off-season, but still quite manageable. We'll be there again this year and don't expect any worse.

Steve
