Anyone else flying today or tomorrow?

To the OP, I'm glad you talked to your Dr. Benadryl (cold & allergy med) also has an antianxiety drug in it although it is not advertised for that use it does work. Just say a prayer and have a great vacation!

This is from the TSA website:
"Exception: Baby formula, breast milk, or juice if a baby or small child is traveling; prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket; and insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines"

Not sure what qualifies as a "small child," but you might be able to bring something for your daughter.

HELP....does anyone know anything about IPOD's. DH is flying to the Netherlands on Sunday and we have all his fav's downloaded into his IPOD for his travel.

ANYONE!!!

Oh, OP, naaa, DH is not the least bit worried. We flew tons after 911 and so we had long lines..big deal..we will just have to deal with it.

And like another Poster said, if someone handed me a ticket for Orlando...YOU CAN BET...I would be racing to the Airport ASAP!!!

This is from the TSA website:

"Media have also reported that laptops, cell phones and electronic items are no longer allowed. Is that true.

No. TSA continues to allow laptop computers, cell phones and other electronic items."

Ahhh...thank you so much!!! :thumbsup2

I'm flying out very early tomorrow morning for Orlando, and I will be packing as light as possible in my carry-on luggage...

About the electronic devices being allowed on - I'd call the airline and the airport the evening before or the morning of my flight to be sure. They could change the rules at any time, and it would stink to have to figure out how to check a cellphone and iPod if your bags were already gone. Atleast make sure you get an answer before they take your bags away at the curb or ticket area.

DS14 & I are flying at 815 am Sat morn!
DH wants us in the car driving to the airport by 4am!

DH is on a domestic flight that should have taken off about 20 minutes ago. He left Orange County, CA airport and getting through security was a real PITA. For most travelers, there was a 2 hour long line. There was a separate line for First Class and Elite Frequent Fliers of "only" about 1 hour.
Besides liquids and gels, hand creams are excluded. The only exception is prescription hand cream carrying the original label. DH had some, but no label, so "Toss". Boy, those trash cans are getting full of all the confiscated stuff!

A friend of mine was scheduled to take a flight from Boston to L.A., the same flight as one of the ones that crashed on 9/11, and this was a few days after it happened. He was so freaked out, he got a couple of sedatives from his doctor for the flight. I think it was Xanax (treats panic & anxiety). Not a whole bottle, just a few for the flight there & back. Hopefully, if you have time, you could look into it. ;)

I have calmed a small bit since this morning and just trying to look forward to arriving in Orlando and starting our vacation. My doctor did call me in a prescription for alprazalom. I have never taken it before so I hope it helps. My kids our getting me excited about the trip and we our doing the last minute running around getting things ready.
Southwest airlines "A" boarding passes our printed and ready to go. Trying to decide what really is most "important" to place in carry on bag. Documents such as hotel confirmations, disney tickets, car rental papers, etc. of course. Cleaned out my purse of hand lotions and lip glosses. Also had a bottle of nail polish remover I took out and hair spray. Off now to pick up prescriptions and last minute items at pharmacy. Thanks again guys.

Hi
You'll probably love your prescription medication. It's Xanax. I NEVER fly without it. I just got enough from my Doctor for the flight. I hate to fly, and it really does help. I took it when we went to Cancun and I slept the whole time and couldn't believe when I heard the pilot say we would be there in 10 minutes. Have a safe trip!

I am also frightened when I fly. My doctor gives me Xanax and that works for me. I actually take one the day before to calm my nerves the day before, then I take one about 45 minutes before the flight. Good luck---I think you'll be fine!

i have to travel on business to alabama on tuesday (from DFW- i live just 20 min away from DFW). i come back wednesday. then we leave for disney next friday! i am not too worried about it. I travel a lot for work and am gold (AA), so at least I can get in the preferred shorter security line hopefully.

i'm not going to let it control me and my life. I'll carry on as usual and just be more vigilant if i see anything 'funny'.

i am peeved cuz i was planning to just take carry-on bags only. we were going to try and avoid checking a bag, just so we wouldn't have to wait forever for our bags in MCO (we aren't using ME, renting a car instead). so i guess now i am stuck checking at least one bag with our toiletries. ugh! what a pain, but it's for good cause i guess.
