I get so depressed on nice days like this, guess cause I am flying solo, it sucks. I say home so I dont have to go out and see couples, that way I am sheilded from the reality of life:(

Yes, and I'm married!!!

My DH is getting his masters, working full time, and writing/editing a book on artificial intelligence. And just where I fit into all that is just not clear.

It is a beautiful, sunny weekend day in Seattle (and we don't get a lot of those) and I don't want to go anywhere by myself and of course all my friends are out doing things with their SO.

Ah, I understand...my DH is working full-time, as well as finishing up his Elec. Engineering degree. When does he have time for me? Maybe once a week.

My only compensation is that it's cloudy today!

Sorry you feel that way - {{{{{HUGS}}}} to you. I have been married for 12 years and my DH and I have been together for 17years I wouldn't know how to be single again. I hope you meet your Prince soon - But you won't meet him if you stay in - go out for a walk - go to the park or beach - just get out - even if you don't meet someone I guareentee you will feel better. Hey if looking at couples makes you sad try to find the ones that are fighting and look miserable that will make you feel better about being single!;)

Well, I am single with a long distance boyfriend. However, for some reason it does not really bother me. I just do what I want. Today I had to mow the grass which would be nice to dump on somebody, but I guess I could hire a lawn service.

I have been there, but I have come to learn to enjoy my own company...create my own happiness. If I am out there giving off negative energy signal (or not out at all) I will never make new friends or possibly a date. I know it is hard, but try and get out there....do some volunteer work....start going places by yourself.......learn to love you and experience happiness that is no dependant on someone else......find what brings you joy and go out and do it. I am sorry that you fell so depressed, but you are the only one that can change that.......and I am not trying to sound mean or negative, but negative energy can drain you....and it just becomes harder to find you way out. Having a partner is wonderful......but you have to be able to be hapy on your own too.....don't wait for someone else to bring you flowers and fun.....take charge of your own happiness.....get out and expereince life......don't let time and opportunities pass you by.....
carp diem!

{{{{hugs}}}}

go find something that you like to do and do it. Outside. Go for a walk, go watch a movie, your prince won't be able to find you if you're hiding in your house. The frog, named brian, already knows where to find you.

Get out there girl! And act like you're happy, even if you're not. Make them wonder what you are smiling about. It's interesting the reactions you'll get. ;)
Make them wonder what fool is leaving you to your own devices.

More hugs! It won't always be this way - especially if you get out there and enjoy life!

I've always valued (not just tolerated) solitude, though I'll admit that I've felt the way you do at one point or another... But you can't let that get you down!!! Nothing's going to change if you just sit at home and wait for something to happen. Why spend the day sitting on your sofa when you can be outside enjoying the weather? I'm in a relationship now, but I still have "days off" from my boyfriend, when I go out and do stuff by myself. I find that it's a great way to recharge and it really brings a lot to our relationship. Having a significant other is great, but being single is cool, too! It all depends on how you look at it... Go out and do something by yourself! You'll be surprised how empowering it can feel :)
